The Tailor's Throne

So with a larger office I actually have room for some frivolous items. I've always wanted a really cool chair that could double as a prop for photos and such. After passing this chair the first time I told myself if it was there next time, with a dropped price of course, I would get it.

Obviously it was meant to be.
This 1960's high wing back chair only set me back $35. I really love the inset lattice work, giving it a lighter feel. Rather Mad Hatter if you will. Once spring comes I will definantly be tooting this out to some park for some really fun photos of the Tailor relaxing.

Also in the photo is my sewing bench I got a couple weeks back as well as a matching wood and brass lamp. It's made to be used with a glass dome which I will have to get, but the huge light bulb that came with it works for the time being. I just need to find a nice plant stand for it!

The wing backs current upholstered state screams "old ladies sunroom" and came complete with snow white cat hair. suprised? I wasn't.

I will be replacing the fabric with the dark brown velvet and accenting it with the print shown to the left of the photo. It ties in the blue as well the the natural muslin color that will be on the curtains. I may throw on some button fringe trim I've been eyeing at Hancock's

In other news the office set up is working great. The fleur de lis suit is not complete, but only another 45 minutes of machine sewing should be left on it, and I got all the materials together for a fun ladies steampunk airship pirate coat.
