Painted surfaces.

So YES I'm open for business again. We're all moved in and mostly settled. Just a little painting left at the old apartment and we wont ever have to set eyes on that hell ever again. I'll ignore the fact that we have a man in the attic repairing a leak that is making the hall and my office ceiling mushy as well as a neighbors wall below us. YAY!

OK I was going to wait to post pix of my office until it was fully completed....

It's a LOT of blue for someone who doesn't particularly love blue. But I gotta admit I do like it. Even with how nasty it has been outside for the past week, my office is bright, cheerful, and sunny without a cloud in the blue sky. It's already done wonders for taking photos of costume pieces. It's the perfect basic blue color that makes every color look crisp.

I've repainted my ikea shelves as well as my table tops. I still have to make the skirt for the cutting table as well as the curtains for the window.

What do I have in mind? Well you can see the blue fabric draped over the curtain rod. I was going to use it for everything, but that's WAY to much blue. SO the table skirt is going to be unbleached muslin with a 6 inch band of blue at the bottom and a 1 inch band of brown velvet between the blue and muslin. The window curtains will the the reverse. I also found lovely antique sewing cabinet at Step Up.

All in all I already feel much better in here. My old office was quite a bit smaller and I could only access one side of the cutting table. I now have a perfect 3 sided work station (sewing machine at right, serger at center, and cutting table at left) which makes working a total breeze. The new office chair is awesome too! It actually fully slides into my sewing desk! It's the little things!
