The second day!

My boyfriend, unfortunately, had horrendous sleep. D: There was a fan going on outside (we'd left the window open because the room had been really warm) and it started raining during the night as well. I…didn't even register that there was other sounds (*is used to it*) and fell asleep straight away. XD;;;

Remember how it was supposed to be sunny for the three days?

…Yeah. This is why we don't really trust the weather forecasts here. XD

We were optimistic about it changing and getting warmer, so we both put on three-quarter lengths shorts on.

Unsurprisingly, we had a Scottish breakfast. XDD Teeeeea. My boyfriend was surprised how much was actually in the teapot. There was enough for two and a bit teacups. :3

By the time we finished…the weather hadn't changed. We didn't change because, well, we're going biking, right? We're gonna be warm anyway so they'll help!

So we left and set off to try and find the bike hire place.

We did find it, rather easily. The place where we'd taken the pictures of the sunset? Right there, next to the shore - we didn't find it because they'd already packed up for the night by the time we'd gotten there. XDD

We had the choice of renting them for three hours, or the whole day (back by five). We went for the whole day, just in case. We were given a map of the cycle path and pointed to Luss (half-way point). 'You can get there in an hour if you cycle fast.' Oh, okay, yeah, we can do that. So that means we can get to Tarbet easily then!' [I kept calling it Talbuk because I could never remember it correctly. XD;;; Oops.] It's ten-thirty now, so when we get back, we can go over to Balloch castle again on the bikes! :D

This was the view from Duck Bay Marina, which, uh, I didn't really include in the summary in the last post. XD;;; It's the kinda wood-coloured building under the building that had the awkwardly spelt name. XD Yes. I'm being very clear here. *facepalm*

A picture of my bike, just because. XD;;

And then we saw ducks and ducklings! Eeeeeeee~

I could not get a good picture with all of them in it. XD

Pretty sure we were still having our ice-cream at this point. Yeah, we were eating ice-cream in this weather. But it was good ice-cream, from tubs! :D

We left Duck Bay Marina some time after eleven.

This…was not very far from Duck Bay Marina. XDD I was kinda worried though, because right after DBM, we were kinda cycling on the road, because the path was kinda narrow. D: Cars were passing us!

Right after that road we ended up…right next to the motorway. D: There was a nice big gap between us and the cars, but uh, the path wasn't that big if there were other cyclists trying to go down the path when you were going up. D: I just stopped when I was being passed because my active imagination kept going, 'we're going to crash or our handlebars are going nudge against each other and then I'll/they'll fall over and then a car's going to come and then we'll die and it'll be all my fault and aaaaaaaaa.' -____- My brain thinks way too much sometimes.

There were cool hills on this were we didn't have to cycle and we were really happy that they were so long, and we had to use our brakes to make sure we didn't go down that fast. It was by the third one we realised, 'oh, wait, if we're going down these, then that means we're going to have to go up these when we're coming back!' *looks up where we just came from* …Uh oh.

By about twelve, we were still cycling, going, 'uuuuh, where's Luss? We should be there by now, right?' We checked out the signs, actually read the leaflet and found out…we'd only passed half-way. And hey, Luss is eight miles away from Ballach?? Whaaaaat? Tarbet's seventeen miles away from Balloch??? We would never be able to reach there and get back in time!! Especially with all the pictures we're taking!

We decided to make it to Luss and go no further, unsurprisingly. XD

Yeah, so my earlier dislike of cycling on the road? We essentially ended up on a main road. DDD: We looked at the sign and then looked at the kinda-fork in front of us *right ahead is a road with no cycling path and we're seeing cars come and go* *to our left is…the motorway, with no cycling path* D: Augh! Was not fun riding, keeping an ear out for cars! I have no idea how people can ride bikes in the city - too stressful for me!

After a while of being on the road, we got off to take some more pictures.

A statue, in the middle of the loch. (Okay, not really, but a big distance from the shore, anyway.)

More ducks! :D

We eventually made it to Luss around about…two. XDD;; We sat under some trees for a couple of minutes, just cooling off, until the midges got a bit much, so we went for food. We had hamburgers~

I bought something (the bag they gave to me to carry it in was a Zavvi bag. XDD) and it was only after I'd bought it and I was staring at my hand that I was like, 'um, how am I supposed to ride properly if I'm carrying this?' We figured I'd be able to do it if I balanced it on the crook of my arm while I rode.

I then proceeded to nearly fall off the bike completely after a minute of riding. -_____- A bit more adjustment, and we left at either half-two or after three.

Asldkfj Just, wow. We'd passed by this house earlier, but we didn't take a picture because we wanted to know where Luss was and not waste more time.

I think at this point, I gave up trying to balance myself on the bike with the Zavvi bag, so I put it in my shoulderbag, and it surprisingly fit. Except for the one bit that jabbed me in the back, but I could actually ride properly! \o/

Lots of space here! At this point, we found out we weren't the only ones that had eaten:

I had been completely untouched because my sleeves had been down when we were under the trees. ^ ^ The bites ended up a bit bigger, with a white halo around then a day later.

We raced back, thinking we were going to be laaaaaate (but we stopped for ice-cream again) and jeez some hills were impossible. We slid back on them, and there was one blind curved bit, where there were actually signs warning you.

My leeeeegs, omg. XDD They kept dying on me, I'd stop, feel okay after a few seconds, start cycling again, and then my legs would refuse to keep going until I stopped...over and over again.

Yet we made it back about half-four. XDDD We don't get it either.

We'd seen this restaurant the day before (or, at least, seen people on the balcony when the shopping centre seemed closed, so we knew that was still open) and it wasn't far from the bike-hire place, so there we went.

I was amused by this. X3

*throws pictures of food at you*

This was my starter: haggis, neeps, and tatties! The sauce was sooo nice~

My boyfriend's starter. Uuuuh, it was a chicken spicy thing. That's all I can really remember of it. XDD;; One of the sauces was pretty hot to me.

Damn, I can't remember. Italian chicken risotto? Something like that. There was seriously so much in this bowl. I couldn't finish it, and the waiters were coming up, asking if we'd finished when I was half-way with it - the way they were talking, they didn't seem to expect people to actually finish it. XD Sooo much!

Spicy curry for my boyfriend.

Apple crumble.

Sticky toffee pudding, with raisins.

…I'm hungry now… :(

Completely full after that, we did a tiny bit more walking.

But not much. XDD

After that we went back to the B&B, watched TV and then fell asleep.

Until, you know, half-four were there were crows outside our window cawing for about an hour non-stop. DX I was tempted to yell at them and hope they flew away.

After that, essentially nothing interesting happened on the third day, except the train was really noisy and whenever it made an announcement, it was all static-y and buzzy. XD

akdsjf I think I'm going to enjoy the week beginning October 24th - Halloween themed prompts on
