The Open Learning stuff came today. And yeah, not just six weeks long - it's actually about eighteen weeks long. It's all coursework at least so I won't have to be worrying about doing an exam at the same time as my other ones. Saying that, I'm due to actually finish this course after my exams at uni. XD
The content doesn't seem too bad... ish. The units are 'introduction' (which is about names, setting and character), 'how words work', 'the character's point of view' and 'relationships'. :3 I haven't looked at the other units because, yeah, I'll get distracted or something. The 'relationships' unit I'm intrigued in because I'm wondering what kinda relationships it means - and if I'm gonna have to write some romance or something like that to be marked. ;p Hopefully, if I do, I can get away with friendship stuff instead. XD;;
Someone's gotten back to me already about volunteering. Got the e-mail about ten in the morning. And um, yey? it's an informal chat. But the info said that there would also be an interview eventually. =/ I've looked at a website and seen some example questions and... Hooo boy. I really don't think I'm gonna enjoy doing that.
Plus, I'm gonna have to find another referee because their site said that they wanted too.
Even though I don't like the look of the interview, I'm a bit weirded out how one of the other volunteering jobs I applied to doesn't have an interview or an informal chat. The selection proceedures are 'Application Form, Induction/Training, Police Check, References, Trial Period'. I'm going to assume that you're watched pretty heavily when on the trial period and induction, but still. =/ They're gonna be working with young kids, some as young as P1 - P4 (four to eigth) even though there's a four week shadowing period afterwards. Hmm...
