A Thankfully Uneventful Day

Jul 05, 2006 01:34

Woke up late today. I actually woke up early to start with and felt hot and sticky and horrible, so I opted to pass out, as being unconscious was preferable to being awake at the time. Eventually dragged myself out of bed and got some coffee and cigarettes to bring me into the land of the living. Which is an incredibly hot and humid land at the moment. I check the weather forecast, hoping beyond hope for rain, or a storm and I am informed that we are due a storm tomorrow, which will hopefully lower the temperature a little and make the air easier to breathe, IF it happens.

Zoe came round after she finished work and we went to the supermarket to get some stuff for dinner and some general bits for the house. Got home and forced myself to go feed the birds and water the garden which actually went off without incident, the winged vermin actually behaving themselves today. Had steak for dinner which was nice and not at all likely to bring on a flow of brown liquid hell like yesterday.

Just kind of dossed around the rest of the evening as it is just too hot to do anything, fun or otherwise in this heat. I wish this house had air conditioning. Oh and I found out that my dad is going away for two weeks next year, so I will have 14 days of avian related hell to endure! JOY!!!

Oh and my thumb now looks a bit puffy, pale and gross around the area of the cut. Still a bit sore, but hopefully it's on the mend. I realised today that I can't play videogames as I can't operate the left thumbstick for obvious reasons. It's my equivalent of Wayne Rooneys foot injury. I'll try not to get angry and assault anyone once it heals.. (world cup reference there)
