i don't get the whole emo thing at all, and I never really have
the look is nice, but evrything else about it does not seem to mesh correctly

if the genre is suppoed to be music about being upset and hurt,depression and all of that, then
why does the music all ways sound kind of whiny and upbeat? It kind of reeks of tempertantrum to me honestly
more pouting over not getting your way then being crippled by emotional weight
and the genral thing of going around and hanging out with your freinds and looking annoyed by evrything is dumb, but then again it was dumb when the goths and the grunge kids did it too. if you were really so meotional, you wouldn't dress up and go to the mall to get clothes that made you look more like you were faking it, you probobly sit at home looking like shit,tucked into a corner of your bed wishing you could fall asleep so that you wouldn't have to feel anything at all

if you really wanted to hear music that conveyed a sense of what depression is
try fragile dreams by anethema
or some of katatonia's stuff
