Well, I just checked up on some Otakon stuff, and found some interesting things. Like, one of the hotels is already sold out for next year. HOLY CRAYUPP. If you need a room, get it NOW. And we need a room. Or two. Or three? What's going on here? How many people want potatoes?
Also, tables in the Artist's alley were bumped up to $75.00 a pop this year. Who knows what they'll be next year. AND, I would need to get a permit if I were to have a table. That can be taken care of at the con, but it's better to get one beforehand. Hojeez.
But look! I just ordered 17 yards of
this fabric! I'm going to make my kimono with it, and, as long as I keep my hair black or maybe even purple, it should look just fine with one of my black Obi. Maybe I could do white face with superblackeyemakeup for extra goodness. Hm. And I should have enough fabric left over to make a couple of little fun things, like a kimono for a doll or two or something. I could even make some dolls out of skulpy and see if anyone would want to buy them with the little kimono. I couldn't resist buying that much, I mean..... that's so cheap for something as nice as that! Sure, the color isn't as vibrant as some of the other fabrics that I was looking at, but it sure as hell is better than anything I could find at Jo-Anne's. And I haven't been on Fabric Row enough to know who's got the best whatnot for my whatever in the land of cheapington.
But man, it's going to be good times. I'm glad that I decided early to go next year, since it means I almost have an entire year to plan and prepare and create and stress out and anticipate.
