Thank you so much for updating your story. I've re-read the whole series and I find it still a powerful and consistent story after all these years.
The current installation definitely is one of your darker ones but I am glad you showed us that not everyone is able to survive their past trauma's. It's what happens in wars and after other traumatic experiences so it adds to the realistic description of post war life.
I do hope Draco's parole hearing will work out fine, especially since both he and Pansy are trying their best to make amends despite the still hostile environment - which is also understandable.

In your reply at the previous chapter you said:
we only have, like, one more chapter of terrible emotional stumbling between these two. Promise. :)
Is this still the case or have you changed your plans between these two chapters?

With everything going on in the world right now time means absolutely nothing to me anymore, so my apologies for the late reply - but thank you so much for your kind words!! You have always left such lovely, thoughtful critique on my writing in the past, and I'm so, so happy to hear that you still enjoy this story, and that you feel it is consistent and effective in its telling even now - yikes, seven years since I originally started publishing chapters for my RPS prompt table. It's so strange to look back at my earlier pieces and see how my writing style has changed in that time, and to hear that you think this story has stayed strong in the years since, well... it means a lot to me ( ... )

Oh darn, I didn't realize this was part of a series until I read the comment by orlando_switch. Now I'm soooo excited to read the rest! (And clearly this piece works well as a single ficlet too!)

I always enjoy your writing, you just have such a way with characterization and pacing that really pulls me in and gets me invested in characters' life situations and feelings. This piece gave me all kinds of feels - I love it when Pansy's character receives some depth. I love messy post-war circumstances, messy growth stories and love, love, love the bittersweet feeling of missed opportunities and unsaid words. Bravo! Gorgeous story.
