Wednesday morning we woke up docked in Bermuda! Our little cell obviously had no window, so we went to the top deck to check out the view.
Then we had breakfast and grabbed our passports and some money and got off the ship. We were docked in King's Wharf which is the location of the Bermuda Maritime Museum. As my best friend works at a maritime museum, my interest in such things, as well as my knowledge, are increaseing, so we headed there first thing.
The museum is located in the Keep of the old Naval Dockyard. Check it out at www.bmm.bm (The last shot above is the view of the Keep from our ship).
Heres the entrance, over the moat. They removed the drawbridge.
This is our ship as viewed from where one of the old cannons would have fired.
This guy started his mural 2 years ago and still has a ways to go...it is amazing to see how much detail he has put into every inch of it! The mural is due to be completed in time for Bermuda's 400th aniversary next year. I can't find anything about it online, but the artist is Graham Foster: www.grahamfoster.com
Can you see Mike at the other end of this table? This is in the Commissioner's house.
They also have Dolphin Quest where you can swim with dophins(if you have $200 to spare)but we just watched. It was still very cool.
A very cool place to visit, and only our first stop that day!
To be continued...
