Honeymoon Days 1 and 2
We were scheduled to leave on Sunday, but decided to head to NY on Saturday and spend the night in one of the company apartments my mom is in charge of for Tallan.
I went to pick up the apartment key from my mom at 9...but she couldn't find it! So she drove back to the office to get another copy. Coming back to meet me at my apartment she got redirected because some crazy old lady had driven up the exit ramp and crash into an oncoming vehicle(nobody was seriously injured). So she had to find another way to get to my apartment. I had to give her alternate directions home since Route 3 was closed, so she had quite the adventure.
This solved we headed off to New Haven, took a slightly later train, and navigated the subway with all our luggage...not a good idea BTW. We relaxed a little before heading to Virgils for BBQ, then got caught in a big rain storm.
The next morning we got up early and got breakfast at a diner. Then we dragged all out luggage down and caught a taxi to the pier.
We got on the ship around 1pm. We did the evacuation drill arounf 3:30. There was a couple that had just gotten married on the ship around noon. The bride was still in her dress!
We were scheduled to leave NY at 4pm, but didn't actually head out until around 6:30. While we waited to head out(and for our luggage to get to our room)we grabbed some drinks...cuz that's what you do on cruises!
It was getting darker, but we still had a good view as we left harbor.
We went to dinner where we had some yummy food and even yummier wine(which the waitress poured into Mike's water glass)then wandered around. We ended up at the karaoke, where we found the bride again(still in the dress!)and discovered the worst karaoke ever. Random 80's stock footage had been used to make "music videos" that played behind the words. I cant even describe how awful and funny it was!
