Well I am back after going to Mortlake last night and seeing 'The Man from Snowy River, the live performance' It was admazing. The horses were absolutly beautiful.
We left here at 6.30 after I missunderstood Barikis message in that he wasn't going to go, so I flew down to where he was working to give him his easter prezzies, and when I got back I found out that he was going to go after all. ARRRHHHHH!!! So him and Jackie got their easter pressies a day early, so alls good.
We got there at 7.20 and walked down to the oval. It was pitch black.
The brumby mob consisted of 1 grey, 1 palomino, 1 black (the colt from old Regret) 1 chestnut and 2 dark bays/browns. (Half the time I can not work out if a horse is a bay or a brown.)
The 'hero's' horse was a bay, which the hero didn't ride. So he had to lead the horse around the arena instead of riding it around. He also didn't look like he was particually fond of it as he passed it on to somone as soon as he was able to. For the riding bits they had someone else. It was very cleverly done with the swaps. If I hadn't seen the production that they put on in Melbourne I would have never known.
The horses for the Stockmen were 1 chestnut, 2 browns and the rest of them were bays. Guess which colour was the faverout? It was quite fun to watch as there was horses that didn't like the crowds, some that didn't care one way or the other, and one that didn't know the name of Slow and eay canter. He was one of the most flashiest horses. although when they had to do dressage it would have been really hard to keep him with all the rest of the horses as they has to do it in pairs
One of the Stockmen horses was a realy georgous brown. One of the few that wasn't worried about the people being to close to the fence He was beautiful. Calm, colected and going right to the edge of the stage. Right near me! *Does a happy dance.*
It only rained twice duting the whole time.
I should have brought the tickets with the seats though. You would have seen the dresage a lot better. Oh well you live and learn.
