So, I'm just back from Spring Break. Seemed weirdly early this year, but then again school does get out around the first week of May, so I suppose it is about halfway through the semester. I didn't get half the things accomplished that I thought I would (mostly catching up on TV shows and seeing a couple movies at the theater). Well, I caught up on Being Human UK (as far as it's aired on BBC America), Modern Family, and Glee, so that's not bad. Still need to catch up on Being Human US, the last episode of Sherlock, and possibly How I Met Your Mother. I didn't go to the movies at all. What I did was a lot more shopping than I expected, but at least I've got summer clothes now and am caught up on shopping for a few months. My sister didn't have the same Spring Break, so mostly I sat around at home on the computer and occasionally went to pick her up from school. But she went shopping with me most of the times I went, so we got plenty of visiting time in.
The week actually started off kind of not-so-great. On Monday I was driving my dad's truck and got stuck in a parking lot because it wouldn't start up. There was something up with the engine in the other car also (my mom and her car were up helping my grandma, who had hip surgery), so we had to take both cars in and work out how we were going to be able to go places. It worked out eventually, though. Then we heard that my uncle might have had a heart attack (turns out he just hit his chest with something and that's where the pain was coming from). Partway through the week we learned that my grandma had pneumonia and was in the hospital.
But it wasn't all bad. I got to hang out with my dad quite a bit, since it was usually just me and him at home during the day, so that was nice. Ha, I had a lot of restaurant food at the beginning of the break because he didn't want to cook, which was also nice. My sister and I watched the Wild Thornberrys movie (amazing) and came up with some weird new in-jokes. I got a haircut, so my hair is no longer attacking my face or harboring ambitions of becoming an afro. I actually didn't sleep in nearly as much as I thought I would, but I enjoyed a week with significantly fewer alarms. It wasn't the best Spring Break ever (that would probably be the year we went to Disneyland over Spring Break), but it was a nice break, even if I did have some large homework projects looming over me.
Random fact of the day: I've had a LOT of pizza recently. Got pizza with my friends the night before I went home (we got back to campus and everything was closed, so we went out for pizza and nearly got lost), had semi-homemade pizza during the week, had at least one microwave pizza, and had Costco pizza today.
Bonus fact: It's been determined that I have an obsession with the following items or patterns on clothing- Batman, plaid, stripes (particularly gray and black or gray and darker gray). Makes much of my wardrobe look similar, but I don't mind too much.
