I totally stole this from Beebo on deviantART, because it just looked so interesting.
First, select your ten fictional characters (from any medium) by whichever method you like best. Then answer the questions below.
1) Erik
2) Davy Jones
3) Edward Hyde
4) Henry Jekyll
5) Remus Lupin
6) Hawley Griffin
7) Christine Daae
8) Cpt. Jack Sparrow
9) Gregory House
10) Frank Spencer (Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em)
1. Divide the list up by even and odd. Which group of five would make a better Five Man Band (like a Power Rangers team)? Who would you slot in each position: Leader, Lancer (second-in-command), Ass-kicker, Smart Guy, The Chick? If you think the team would be improved by swapping one character between the even and odd groups, which ones would you switch?
Group 1: Erik, Hyde, Lupin, Christine, House
Group 2: Davy, Jekyll, Griffin, Jack, Frank
GROUP 1:
Leader: Lupin
Lancer: Erik
Ass-Kicker: Hyde
Smart Guy: House
The Chick: Christine
Oh dear, this team would not do very well in real life. Okay, let's see... Lupin is the leader because he's basically the only mentally stable one and being the leader brought out his strong, brave leader side a bit. Erik, having tried desperately to become leader, was tricked into being lancer via Christine as a distraction, Lupin knowing he would look out for the team's welfare rather than only his own and Christine's. But it all works out; Erik can take over when Lupin acts weak and take care of things in his own way. Hyde has had plenty of experience kicking ass, especially if this is musical!Hyde the mass-murderer. House was shunted into being Smart Guy when Lupin decided to grow some extra spine and become leader. He would have been lancer, but Erik strangled him until he passed out and was no longer a problem. Christine, being your typical fainting gothic Victorian heroine, is a prime candidate for Chick.
GROUP 2:
Leader: Jack
Lancer: Griffin
Ass-Kicker: Davy
Smart Guy: Jekyll
The Chick: Frank
You know, I can see this team doing a bit better, though I doubt many of its members would get on very well with each other. Jack is the leader only to appease his ego. Griffin's really the one pulling the strings, at least when it suits him. He simply gives Jack enough rum to get him suitably drunk then takes control. Davy really wanted to be the leader, but the whole can-only-go-on-land-once-every-ten-years thing sort of held him back, so he was content to be the ass-kicker and go about collecting new crew members. Jekyll is the smartest, except for possibly Griffin, so he makes a lovely Smart Guy. Frank...well, he makes the best Chick of the group.
2. Gender-swap 2, 8 & 10. Which character would have the most change in their story arc? Which the least? Would any of these characters have to have a complete personality change to be believable as the opposite sex?
Let's see... that would be Davy, Jack, and Frank. Davy's story arc would need to be fixed in order for him to fall in love with a hot guy, unless he was a lesbian. Not to mention he'd need to be one incredibly progressive and respected woman captain in order to have a whole crew of sea creature men serving under him in addition to being one of the most feared things on the ocean and controlling the seas.
Jack would also need to have his love interests altered and be a tough pirate woman. I can see him as a prostitute who got bored of her job and decided to try her luck as a pirate instead, but couldn't quite give up all her old habits or something. Will would probably need to have his gender changed also and would most likely become a proper lady, like Elizabeth in the first movie, which would make him a rather ineffective pirate unless he changed his ways like Elizabeth.
Frank would work rather well as a woman, actually. He'd probably be like a ditzy blonde.
3. Compare the match-ups of 1 & 8 and 5 & 9. (Ignore canon sexual preferences for the moment.) Which couple would be more compatible? Which couple would be more plausible to people from either principal's home culture?
Hmm, Erik/Jack and Lupin/House.
Well, Erik would almost definitely try to strangle Jack, mainly for being annoying, and also for being cocky and constantly drunk. I imagine Erik would get fed up pretty quickly with Jack and their relationship would not end happily. Heh, Jack would probably come parading in when Erik's composing and ask him where he kept his rum.
Lupin and House might get along well at first, both being brainiacs, but I don't think Lupin would be able to deal with House's weird habits/hobbies/everything and his constant cynicism and misanthropy. Lupin would probably try to make House a better human being, which would annoy House, which would lead to a fight or something.
4. Your team is 3, 4 & 9. The mission consists of a social challenge, a mental challenge and a physical challenge. Which team member do you assign to each challenge?
So this would be Jekyll, Hyde, and House. Well, the social challenge would have to go to Jekyll, who would out-polite the others by far and do best dealing with other people. House would get the mental challenge, and probably end up solving it in some crazy, out-of-the-box, but completely correct way. Hyde would get the physical challenge, being the strongest of them all, and most likely end up killing someone.
5. 7 becomes 1's boss for a week in some plausible fashion. How's their working relationship?
Ooh, this would be a most interesting relationship. I'm not sure how Erik would like having Christine as his boss, but he'd probably be too busy obsessing over her to care. Christine would have some problems being the boss and having to tell Erik what to do, but she'd get over it eventually, I imagine. I can't see Erik being a particularly diligent worker, but Christine almost surely wouldn't tell him off or sack him. I can definitely see this evolving to a...non-platonic relationship fairly quickly.
6. 2 finds him/her/itself inserted into 6's continuity. As far as anyone other than 2 or 6 is concerned, they've always been there. What role would 2 be presumed to have had in 6's story, and could they fit in without going wonky?
Wait, are we talking Davy before he became captain of the Flying Dutchman or after he went all tentacly? If he wasn't human, this would be pretty weird. But if he was human, he could be another of Griffin's friends and would probably end up helping him with his "reign of terror" and they'd end up terrorising England together.
7. 3 and 5 get three wishes. The catch is that they have to agree on all three wishes before they get the benefits of any of them. What three wishes would they make?
Hyde and Lupin? They would definitely have a huge fight over this before getting anywhere. Hyde would want to get rid of Jekyll or something else that benefits him. However, I can imagine Lupin being friends with Jekyll, so I doubt this would go over well with him. Lupin would want to be normal, most likely, but that wouldn't really benefit Hyde. Anyway, after their huge fight the wishes would probably come down to this: Lupin gets to be normal (so Hyde doesn't have to listen to him angst about being a werewolf), Hyde gets separated from Jekyll without killing either (Lupin gets a friend that doesn't change into a murderer, Hyde gets rid of Jekyll), and they both get lavishly furnished, centrally heated, beautiful old castles far away from each other.
8. 1 and 2 are brainwashed by a one-time artifact that works even on people immune to mind control to attack and kill 4. They keep their normal personality, skills and competence level, except any Code vs. Killing has been turned off. Can 4 survive? How?
Hmm, brainwashing two homicidal weirdos into attacking the proper doctor? Jekyll wouldn't stand a chance against Erik and Davy. He would get stabbed repeatedly then strangled artfully and hung from the nearest tall surface.
9. 6, 7, 9 & 10 must help an orphanage full of small and depressed children have a merry Christmas. Who does what, knowing that at the very least the kids will be expecting a visit from Santa?
Okay, Griffin, Christine, House, and Frank are in charge of an orphanage for Christmas? Well Frank would probably orchestrate the whole thing with Christine's help, her fixing his glaring mistakes, and they would most likely end up cheering up the orphans, if only by how badly they bungle the entire plan. Griffin would probably lock himself in an extra room with his experiments and House would try to convince the kids that Santa doesn't exist.
10. 3 and 8 are challenged to circumnavigate the Earth in eighty days or less, using only forms of transportation invented before 1900. Can they do it, or will they be fatally distracted by side quests or their own personality conflicts?
So Hyde and Jack are in charge of reenacting Jules Verne. This would be very interesting to watch, I know that much. The transportation wouldn't be a problem as both of them are used to that sort of stuff anyway. Jack could use his Super Speedy Black-Sailed Ship for the oceans, and they could try to hitchhike or something, but I'm not sure if they'd make it out alive. Someone would say something and a fight would break out, possibly ending in death. They're both rather skilled with weapons. Hyde would probably try to steal Jack's rum as well. The time restriction could affect them, though they'll probably be too busy bickering to care. If they both survived, they might make it in time, though I doubt it. They'd need to find some way to get along.
So, yeah. That's the quiz thing. If anyone reads this, feel free to copy it or whatever. I think I need to get some sleep before 1, so bye.
