Essays suck. Normally, I am much more relaxed about them and get them done in a state of only mild annoyance, but I've just spent the entire week agonizing over a four page essay on different versions of Romeo and Juliet. Well, not really the whole week, because most of it was spent happily putting the essay off until Friday. Then Friday came and... I did nothing. And stressed about it all day Saturday, until I finally got a rough draft written at one or two in the morning. I revised on Sunday around midnight. And still was not happy with the essay. This afternoon I worried over whether or not to include a works cited page, and showed up to class hoping it would somehow work out. It didn't. Apparently we were supposed to follow the prompt exactly, and also infer from some mentions things we should include and cite in addition to just the text and movies. There was exactly one person in the class who included everything the teacher was looking for. She was a bit frustrated that we didn't see the same things in her prompt that she did. THANK GOD she decided to give us another week to get it right. Of course, this means that I get to continue agonizing over the paper, but perhaps after I rewrite half of it, I'll feel more confident.
On a happier note, it's really pretty cool to have both the US and UK versions of Being Human airing once a week. I get double the paranormal dramedy goodness! Two episodes a week is awesome. If only Doctor Who was also airing new episodes, and if How I Met Your Mother was showing new episodes on a more regular schedule, it would be like TV heaven. Lovely shows to distract me from all this awful school stress that wasn't so bad last semester. This is what I get for taking classes with actual homework, I suppose.
