Well, a lot has happened since I last posted. I've continued being busy, which is why I haven't posted since the end of September. Girl Scouts finally started up again, which is awesome because it gives me more of a social life than I get with all my friends having graduated, but also makes my Thursdays even longer because I don't have time to go home after the creative writing class. The class, by the way, has been rather changeable in terms of who comes on which days. For a couple weeks it was little kids on Mondays and older kids on Thursdays, but now apparently it's going to be only Thursdays. This would free up my Mondays, except that I'm now giving saxophone lessons on Mondays. Also, I've been writing a lot of poetry lately, to help with the fall journal. Iambic pentameter is actually not as difficult as one would think. Tomorrow is my first case with Teen Court, as prosecution. The only problem is that I only got my case yesterday and haven't yet been in contact with my co-council to discuss who will actually be doing what...
But all this is now far easier to deal with because I FINALLY GOT MY LICENSE! Last Thursday, and it's amazing having freedom. My test went much better this time, and I passed with only two points off, for not checking blind spots. I feel bad not being completely able to drive stick yet (grr at manual transmission) and making my dad take the dinky white truck everywhere, but I don't mind driving the Pilot. It's awesome not having to wait around for rides and being able to go places even if no one else wants to. I went to a renaissance faire in Folsom on Saturday and hung out for three hours, then stopped by Target to get a black blazer for Teen Court and general ownership. I can be so much more independent now, it's shocking. I can also sing along to musicals in the car and not annoy other people.
Catching up on things mentioned last post... Shows have been going well with the Olde Coloma Theatre. We're getting better as the month goes on and some people are developing their characters quite well. Not all my family has seen it yet, but I think that's going to change this weekend. And I'll probably have something to do this Halloween, due to cast party and possible group trick-or-treating. The wedding went well, though it did start raining during the ceremony and the baby of the bride and groom was crying for most of it. The reception was rather shorter, the part that we stayed for at least, and there was actual alcohol so the adults didn't get bored. I wound up being the designated driver to take everyone to the buffet at Harvey's after the reception. There was not a lot of space to dance, but there was more dancing sooner. Not a full dinner, but some delicious (if inadequate for the number of people) appetizers and the buffet made up for it. Got to visit with other family members this time. However, the wedding seemed poorly-planned out since everything was late and no one seemed to know what they were doing. The cake was not as delicious, but the wedding was also less boring.
Random: Fall weather is finally here! How thrilling. Meghan's best friend now goes to my school. Parking at the college, especially for morning class, is absolutely dreadful.
