It's my birthday today! I'm a year older. It was kind of nice that I didn't have school. I got to sleep in, then watch Mystery Men on TV, do some homework, waste time online, practice my saxophone and in about half an hour I'll have to leave to go to drama. Yesterday was the opening night of The Crucible. It went really well, except for some notable screw-ups in act three, such as calling characters by other characters' names. I was called by three different names during that act. There was also the rather humorous line, "She has not been a poppet these fifteen years!" (Poppet basically means doll). There was only one point when the character with the most lines was stumbling around a lot. I think all the time we spent rehearsing last weekend (we were originally going to open last weekend but opening night had to be cancelled so people could learn their lines) actually helped. It kind of sucks that we're only having three performances instead of six after all the time we spent rehearsing, but at least we're performing.
So, back to my birthday. It was kind of nice that I just got to be at home by myself and relax. It's also nice that I'm going to be able to drive very soon. In November I can get my permit. I'm very excited about that. The one slightly sucky thing is that Meghan wants to have a murder mystery party next weekend and we're going to have to do a lot of cleaning to have the house clean enough. Planning it out is fun, though. I also have two projects due on the same day, the Monday before school gets out. I can't believe it's almost summer break. Wow.
