am probably the last person to watch Pirates

I enjoyed At World's End much, much more than Dead Man's Chest, I have to say. DMC was hilarious and all, but didn't do much for the plot, where as AWE pretty much tied up the plot threads and had a satisfying resolution.

Captain Jack is ♥ and when did Will become hot? He's always been pretty and good looking...just not hot, but in AWE? Hot.

I did not see the Will as the captain of the Flying Dutchman coming. I was really surprised when Jones stabbed him in the heart, but less surprised when Jack sacrificed his own chance to be immortal so that Will could live. Still, it was a nice plot twist and made me a little sad for the Will/Elizabeth relationship. I didn't think they had a lot of chemistry in the first and second Pirates movies, but in this one? I definitely saw it. Seriously, that last scene with the, uh, leg and, um, kissing, was... *cough*

Yes, Will was particularly dashing here. Me like. *gg*

Jack was just awesome. Awesome, awesome, awesome. I will never say no to more Captain Jack, but as DMC demonstrated, Jack needed to have other less insane and normal people around so that we can all glorify in his uniqueness, so while I thought they were trying too hard with the Jackness and humour in DMC, I thought they did it realy well in AWE.

For instance:
  • "MY PEANUT!"
  • The multiple Jacks, hee
  • Jack running-because the flailing and girl-like shuffling just kills me
  • Jack and the Black Pearl and Barbossa stealing his ship again. They're right back where they were in the first movie. Hee.
  • The bickering between Jack and Barbossa. Awesome.
  • Jack and the two incompetent soldiers from the first Pirates. ♥
  • Jack and his father, hahaha. That was perfect.

Other things to note:
  • Barbossa is awesome.
  • Jack (the monkey) was so cute and hilarious. ♥
  • Will and Elizabeth's wedding was cute. Like, really cute.
  • I was sad when Elizabeth realised her dad was dead. And Jack had the right touch of sympathetic. Her conversation with Will's dad and his forgetful moment was sad too. All the parental relationships here (with the exception of Jack and his dad) was just bittersweet and sad...
  • The Calypso/Davey Jones relationship was bittersweet, but sort of in a vague way for me until that scene with Calypso and Davey Jones. Wow, props to the actors because that was just...intense and wistful and...yeah. Have to admit though, I wanted some resolution to their relationship other than the one that was there. We really don't know what happened to them, do we?

In other news, I feel an urge to change my lj layout again. No idea why, but I feel like a change? Heh.

Still feeling tired today despite the fact that I slept in. Maybe Pirates took more out of me than I realised... it was three hours long, I think, because I remember being surprised at how late it was when I got home.

my life is so mundane, i like movies
