I don't think you're being harsh at all, because I don't doubt that during that period Kame probably didn't have much contact with AT-TUN, either because of the tension particularly with Jin and Koki and because he was just flat out busy. I mean, sleeping for only a couple of hours for months. :| I kind of think that probably Nakamaru and Taguchi were probably the most supportive, though I'm not sure about Ueda (he didn't seem like he minded much though).
But yeah, he was so disturbingly skinny back then. I don't think he had an eating disorder though...just more like he works so hard and he sort of neglects eating? Like back when Akame were best friends Jin used to set up dinner dates or something because Kame would just end up not eating.
Yamapi had to have noticed considering (especially since Yamapi went through his own period of being disturbingly skinny); I like to think that Yamapi (when he became closer to Kame) tried to do something about it, but. Who knows. :| Like you, I'm just happy Kame is healthy nowadays. Now if only him and Jin can get back their old friendship... XD
Don't apologise! I love discussing everything and anything about...well, anything and everything. :)
Mmm I understand and completely agree. God Akame and KAT-TUN are so ridiculously angsty which is odd because we're supporting a band that were dead animals and cosplay for God's sake!
I also love how close KAT-TUN seem now. I completely agree with you about the light bit with Ueda and how causal Kame was about it. God I am seriously so in love with this band its embarrassing! :/
I also like to think Yamapi was aware because I do remember is his exceptionally skinny phase. Oh Kame!
In terms of Akame moments did you hear Jin say Kame? Because I swear to God he called him that and maybe I'm just flailing for nothing but I listened to the clip like a million times (because I am an obsessed fangirl)! Do i lie?
I know! I sort of flip back and forth between Arashi and KAT-TUN and then I kind of have to scratch my head a little because I go from hilarity and fluff to angst and drama, but...apparently I like it like that? I love them both though. I don't know what that says about me, except that I'm probably all over the place. :|
It wouldn't be KAT-TUN and Akame without the angst. XD Seriously though, I'm glad things are so settled for them now. It's not all touchy-feely and it's really the casual things that hint at their friendship, but somehow I find that even more endearing. It's just so...comfortable. Like how they say they never talk about stuff like girls and etc, which makes it seem like they don't interact at all, but then Kame would know instantly that it's this specific lamp Ueda was talking about, or how they all know Ueda's camera-face pose or how Ueda imitates Junno when he's playing a game (at least that's what I think it is from the raw). I don't know. Maybe compared with the drama and angst before these tiny bits make me happy. XD
Well...I try not to be too embarrassed when I babble about JE. It's very hard though. XD And at least your posts aren't sprinked with heart emoticons and lots of flailing? >_>
Everytime I think about Kame back then, I want to give him a hug. :| Actually, I want Jin to give him a hug and take care of him like he did before and if Jin won't, then I want Yamapi to. :|
YOU DO NOT LIE. I HEARD THAT TOO. That was the Akame interaction I flailed a little bit on! It was when Kame was saying something and then Jin sort of interrupted and then Kame's sort of ducks down all smiley and embarrassed? And Jin called him Kame, right? Right? :D
For some odd reason I'm not getting comment notifications so I've only just noticed your reply. *glares at lj*
I sort of completely adore KAT-TUN. I mean it started with Akame, went to a complete obsession with Kame who I feel can do no wrong in my eyes, and has finally ended with me squeeing at everything they do as a group now. I'm so addicted to them its not even funny. :(
But if you look at KAT-TUN's origins its not really surprising they were so angsty. Koki hated all of them at first, they were all forced together, Kame debuting first, the success of Shuji to Akira etc. But they seem happy with each other now. Like they'll dorkily insult one another and whilst they aren't declaring their love for each other all the time I get the feeling that they genuinely love each other as a band.
HE CALLED HIM KAME! And it was so casual. Like he slipped it in and nobody in KAT-TUN picked up on it or looked surprised which kind of makes me feel that they're interacting a lot more than whats put on camera. Also there's a lot of fan sightings of them together (I think Jin drove Kame to a dreamboys rehearsal or something) so I get the feeling that JE is trying to push the other members popularity by limiting the Akame interaction. There was also another bit where Kame was saying something and Jin burst into laughter. It was really dorky giggling laughter and Kame looked so pleased that he made Jin laugh. I love how dorkily excited Akame fans get when they merely look at each other. It makes shipping them such an angsty process. :/
I love that you mention KAT-TUN and Akame and I jump into meta mode! Lol.
Ah, no worries. LJ does tend to do that every so often. :|
I know what you mean about being addicted to them. :| I think we went into this obsession the same way-first Kame, Akame, and then KAT-TUN. Sometimes I feel sad at how excited I get at their group activities. Then I kind of get distracted with the flailing, which is just as well because I don't want to think too deeply on my attachment. :(
Yeah, I'm not really surprised by the angst either. I kind of get the feeling that they played on that though, where as other groups sort of hid the behind the scenes tension, KAT-TUN was allowed (maybe even encouraged?) to speak out about their fights. I mean, their image is pretty much based on being the somewhat 'bad boys' of JE (*cough* compared with the other clean cut JE groups, I mean, because we all know they're more dorky than badass ;P) and not getting along. Actually, in the beginning I kind of thought resolved issues get talked about, so when KAT-TUN talked honestly about Shuji to Akira, their fights about spilled cream, etc, I sort of just assumed that they were pretty much over it. But then I watched some interviews during their debut and it seemed like at some parts, they tried to play it up. There's only so many times I can listen to their fight over spilled cream and Ueda and Kame's fight before I start to wonder why they keep on talking about it so much.
Asjfkl. Jin driving Kame to a Dream Boys rehearsal? I am so excited. No, really. *_* This is what Akame fans are reduced to, flailing when they look at each other or call each other by their names. :|
I agree about Akame being pushed back. I keep thinking that it must be just my wishful thinking, but then I'd see the behind the scenes scans of Cartoon KT or read stuff about how they've been interacting off camera and...well, it kind of makes sense. For a while, it was Akame plus those other guys and KAT-TUN's popularity would have been dependent on Akame, which, you know, isn't really a good idea when you consider the cold wars and one half of the pair suddenly being absent.
*laughs* I love that despite the fact that I have finals to cram for, I still have the time to meta back.
God I love talking to someone about KAT-TUN. I'm slowly and steadily getting a friend into them and I'm writing her an email with links to their songs/behind the scenes stuff/their drama's/pimp posts on each member etc and its already 10 pages long! *blush* I just find them so much more fascinating than Western bands. I mean we're going through an indie phase at the moment with bands like The Killers, The Kooks etc dominating the charts and I just find then so boring! Whereas with KAT-TUN you get to see them being dorks every Wednesday on CtKT as well as the monthly photo shoots. And thats not accounting all the awesome people who translate their web blogs! (Have you ever seen Kame's? It is full of emoticons. He is so awesome!)
Mm I started with Kame but I never really got over my obsession with him. I actually love every little thing he does and I always want to force people to sit through a CtKT episode and watch his gay gay laugh and still claim that he is a prima donna with a stick up his arse. He is one of the most misunderstood members of JE and I find it so incredibly sad when people bash him. Then again I get genuinely upset when people bash Junno now so that says it all really!
Lol I think they enjoy fighting with each other. And I'm of the opinion that I think its healthier to have everything out in the open rather than stew about it for ages. I do think Jin's hiatus did them a world of good though. They're so much more relaxed with each other and I love how easily and readily they seem to have accepted Jin back too. I imagine they were furious with him at first but its sort of worked out. :D
Yeah it was a while a go now. They were also seen watching fire works and leaving together a while back. Fuck us Akame fans have it so so hard. I can sort of see why Pin fans make fun of us because they've got Pi mentioning Jin in his web blog all the time and rumours of them living together whilst we have to make do with them calling each other by their nicknames and stolen glances across the room. I LOVE THIS FANDOM!
God their relationship is so mad. Its why I think they won't ever cut ties completely. There's far too much history there and even if they do seem to be on again/off again I honestly feel they'll work it out. And if not I have to admit Koki/Kame is kind of hot if not because they're both such dorks with each other! ;)
Ouch finals. I have exams at the beginning of December which I'm definitely not looking forward too. Oh how I miss first year! :(
Erm I feel sort of awkward doing this but do you have IM or something like msn? I find you really, really interesting and it would be easier than me spamming your lj comments.
I know exactly what you mean! I love to meta KAT-TUN and Akame and can probably meta for ages. They're just so fascinating. They're really not like Western bands, because what they're selling isn't just music, but their actual personalities. In a way, it can kind of reminds me of reality shows because what we're seeing is like a slice into their everyday lives (well, sort of, minus the sparkly costumes and feather boas, but then again, it is Johnny's; not very surprised if sequins and sparkles are of the norm for them). Asfjkl, I haven't managed to find Kame's translated web blog yet (I've seen one entry and his emoticons kill me. so cute.) but I wouldn't say no if you directed me towards it. ;)
I don't think I'll ever stop loving Kame either, no matter how many other JE guys I end up loving. The Kame hate makes me sad. :| It's like, why? D: He's so hardworking and stressed out and incredibly dorky despite the fact that he tries so hard to be cool, and, well, he gives me the impression that he never really got over his awkward phase despite the fact that he's insanely gorgeous now. Actually, KAT-TUN hate in general makes me sad. It puzzles me because...how can you have so much hate in a fandom that consists of sparkles and shiny costumes? :(
Yeah, I mean, at the time when Jin announced his hiatus, everything must have been chaotic and uncertain, but it turned out that the hiatus actually helped. The other members had to step up and Kame wasn't as burdened anymore so he relaxed and the group became more settled. I get the feeling Koki and Kame were the most terse about his leaving, which is interesting because Koki and Jin was mad at Shuji to Akira, so it kind of makes me wonder Koki and how he regards KAT-TUN now.
Even rumours and sightings of Akame interaction makes us flail. :| Akame fans are definitely one of a kind. Hee.
But! They saw fireworks together. :D
See, the thing is, I can't really see Pin. I can see Pikame, I can see Akame, and I can see Tomapi, but...I can't see Pin. I think it's because there's really no tension there; it really feels like they're bffs who do idiotic and stupid shit together, and therefore incredibly hilarious, but...no hint of something more. It's sort of like Koki/Kame too, because while they're dorky and fun, they also have this...vibe, probably because they weren't so close before and because Koki sort of admitted he hated Kame for debuting without them. But then, there are instances where Koki would back Kame up despite it, like in the Heyx3 interview when Kame was basically being cornered about forgetting/erasing the number of this guy who acted as the Vice Principal in Gokusen, Koki sort of intervened and said Kame does that to him too-he'd send text messages and Kame won't reply, and then they backed off Kame. At the time, I was too busy trying to analyse the Akame dynamics to do anything more than think that was nice of Koki, but now with JE focusing on Koki/Kame a bit more, it sort of just occurred to me that Koki does this every so often (if not frequently).
I don't think Akame can completely cut ties off from each other either. I mean, even when they were chibis they still fought a lot apparently. Over more simple stuff maybe (and god, chibi Akame is really so adorable XD), but I in the end they made up and I think that's kind of how it is now as well. They fight, they make up, and then they'll probably fight and make up again. ;) Like you said, there's too much history. :|
I miss first year too. :(
*laughs* I do indeed have msn. Just added you now. There's also gmail (larklavroc) if you prefer that. :D
