the one where I am addicted to another drama, and some akame rambling

...so, it would appear that I have become addicted to Coffee Prince, an on-going kdrama that's like good fanfiction. Seriously. Girl gets mistaken for guy, pretends to be a guy, and fakes being another guy's fake lover, as said guy questions his own sexuality. It's hilarious and sweet and generally adorable. The lead female (girl who gets mistaken for a guy) is so likeable too. You really can't help it. She's no Mary-Sue for sure. One of the things I've noticed in the dramas that I've watched so far is that there's really no Mary-Sues, unlike in some TV series or movies, where you get the pretty, perfect girl who's co-lead or the love interest.

The whole plot isn't just crack and fluff either-it's also complicated and bittersweet, and sometimes really sad...so, yes, this is why I am apparently so addicted, that I'm up to episode 7. *sigh* Subs are here.

I've also watched Yuuki, where Kame's character is dying and it was ;_;. Kame was really, really good-his character tried to be so positive for his friends, that in the moments when he was alone and angry and in pain, he just broke my heart. The part where he was blind and told his old sensei that he was afraid of the dark really hit me hard. Then, after his old sensei tells him that if he accepts it, he won't be afraid of the dark anymore and sings him this song he used to sing in kindergarten and he takes his blindfolds off and for a minute, you think he's going to accept it, but then he doesn't; that look of pain and anger at the world really, really took my breath away. Because it isn't fair. He's been so positive for his friends, who support him so much, that he never really became resentful and angry and asking the world and fate why? His mother at first cried and asked why her son had to suffer-he never did, not even at the moment when the anger was so palpable that he flung the tray from his bed.

And then after that powerful scene, you see him slowly feeling his way through the corridors, and you can't help it but ache for him. He was so lively and bright and confident in the beginning. It just...really hits you.

Kame really is an excellent actor. I want to see more of his dramas, but I don't know if I'd like them... I know I'd like him, but the plot for his other dramas don't really sound that interesting...

In the mean time, I've been looking for Akame clips and just general KAT-TUN ones. Like, say, for instance, I found the Summary Backstage video in 2004 and watched avidly because the dynamics between Kame and the rest of the group was really sad. This was also where I ended up blinking a lot because Kusano (from News) kind of...fangirls Kame. I've heard about Kusano being a really big fan of Kame's, but have never really seen it, and thus, was not aware of how big a fan he is. So, this had me searching on youtube for clips where Kusano does more fangirling, because it is really adorable. I found one where chibi Kusano sort of says that he likes Kame, and Kame kind of pets his head affectionately, and it's all so very cute. There was an Akame clip, where Kame and Jin arm wrestle, and Kusano in the audience starts cheering on Kame (he's the only one doing any cheering, everyone else is sort of just watching and clapping, hee). The clip I really, really want to see though is the one where Kusano sort of hugs/glomps Kame to the point where someone (or a couple of someones) had to intervene; one distracted the camera, while the other tried to detach Kusano from Kame. Hee.

I'm not too confident about how I view Akame and their dynamic, because, well, I've only been a fan for a couple of weeks and they literally have years of history. Despite looking through old footage, fanvids, and reading meta posts, I kind of have a feeling there's much more that I haven't seen or am not aware of.

My opinion on their cold wars also keep on changing, and it doesn't help that the possibilities for why they became so distant after looking like they were each other's first loves are endless. And I really can't think of another way to describe their relationship/friendship in another way, because...well, they really do look like they had the largest crushes on each other. Jin used to grin and smile at Kame so brightly and happily, and Kame just lights up. Kame's recent smiles pale in comparison. :/

They were so adorable. I want them to be adorable again on Cartoon KAT-TUN (a show which they host), but they never interact. And when they do, the camera sort of cuts away. :/ I'm still bitter the camera cut away after the smile athlete competition (so dorky, and yet, so much fun-they have to basically smile all the time while doing these athletic events designed to make their life hard ♥). The subbed (and raw) episodes can be found here, and they are simply adorable and a lot of fun. In every single episode, I've managed to grin and/or laugh because it's just so funny and cute.

I wish there was more interaction. ;_; It appears that they interact more in their concerts, but for some reason, they don't here. The few times they do seem, I don't know, a bit off. Not tense or anything like that. Just...I don't know. Hm.

As an aside though, Jin in this interview sounds kind of tired. :/
