How Trader Joe's prepared me for parenthood

Or at least helped me deal with crazy 2 year olds. See when I first started working at TJ's I had a lot of trouble adapting to the phenomenon where every assigned task on the floor was often and repeatedly interrupted by customers needing assistance. /sigh Add to this the store policy that instead of giving most, likely confusing directions to aa product, we were required to guide the customer to the product. /double sigh Now don't get me wrong this is truly better customer service and contributes to TJ's impressive customer loyalty. But for crew members it is truly a major pain in the ass most days. Especially if whatever you are doing requires more brainpower than moving empty boxes. But we adapt. And develop and awesome new skill. Which is really useful when trying to accomplish anything with a preschooler underfoot.
