Crap. XD The whole reason I came here to make an entry was to say I saw "Up" last night. Then I got distracted and wrote about other things in that last entry. So I might as well make another entry dedicated to the movie.
I actually started getting teary eyed during some parts, I think the only other time that happened during a Pixar movie was in Toy Story 2.
Pixar continues to impress me and I'm sure many other people. Like I learned in my Film Lit class, a good movie's first ten minutes will tell you what the movie is about, and Up certainly does that job. What got me teary eyed was not the fact that Carl's wife passes away, because she was old and lived a good life, but the parts where they go through life. Seeing them trying to save up money so they can go to South America only to end up using it and never making it there together is what got me. To have a dream and never accomplish it. That frightens me, that I'll never live my dreams because little things in life get in the way.
The second part is when Carl finally gets the house to Paradise Falls and looks through Ellie's scrapbook. For some reason the message she leaves him at the end got me. Even though she didn't get to go on that adventure to South America, she still had an adventure with someone she loved. And after reading that Carl can let go of the past and look to the future.
I'm starting to think Up has become my favorite Pixar movie, although every year I think I say that. XD
