The fashion show was a huge success! :D
On November 4th I showed my latest collection, Kaye, at the Studio 505: Branching out Freestyle show in Citrus Heights. It was put on by the American River College Student Fashion Council. This was a joint effort between the SFC and Freestyle Clothing Exchange.
It was inspired by Visual Kei fashion and, of course, the flamboyant closet of Daisuke Asakura. Most of the pieces were repurposed. XD The models walked to Autumn Trance and it was fabulous. I have more ideas, better ideas now that I'm going to sketch out. I can't wait to get started! :D
There were ten designers in all. Yennie did a beautiful job with the set design. I really wish I had gotten pictures of it. I'm sure she did so I'll post them when she gets them processed. :P
Here's a group shot of the girls:
I had to blur out one of their faces because she's a minor, and for legal reasons I'm keeping quiet for the sake of her privacy I had to blur out her face. I'm not thrilled with the quality of the photos, because backstage was rubbish light. I should have used the flash. :/ Lesson learned! :D I am currently in the process of getting permission from Ron Musser Photography to use his runway shots for promotional purposes. Here are the runway shots:
I am going to get individual garment and jewelry shots on Tuesday. Chenelle Burgos did the makeup(she's the model in the dreads), and Paul Michell school did the hair. Chenelle did an amazing job with makeup, she knew exactly what I wanted, and she's into the more goth/visual kei style of dress too so we had a lot of fun during the show. :D
So...that was my weekend. I'll post more stuffish later. :)
