Troubling times at the Uni chaps.
A little background first. Brunel uni is one of the best in the country, last time I checked it was in the top 30. Sadly, there is a slightly nastier element. It has been featured in several news articles, both on TV and the papers, whenever stories are written about religious extremeism in schools. About a month ago, a muslim cleric claimed that Brunel is one of the main sites for terrorist recruitment in the country. The people they reckon planned the July 7th bombings in London were former students here. An e-mail was sent to all students last week, warning students about these events, and telling them not to panic.
Now, heres the interesting bit - supposedly, certain areas of the student accomodation have been bugged. All spy-like. So, its something to write for the student magazine at least, and its time for me to go into 'detective Stemes' mode. Even got a bogart-style fedora for the occasion. Very noir.
Hoping for a large scale conspiracy to be occuring, if not i'll be VERY dissapointed.
