So I finished What's Up, and I was going to say something flippant like "BEST DRAMA OF THE YEAR" but... uh... considering that the competition so far has been "Yamapi The Funeral Director" and "My Mom Keeps Getting Hit On By My Friends and It Makes Me Uncomfortable", I think the superiority of What's Up is a given

OMG Tamra. SUCH a beautiful drama. I managed to see the Director's Cut of that one since...I'm pretty sure if was cut down by the network. But it's definitely worth the watch just for the prettiness of Jeju. Im Joo-hwan is awesome and now after seeing him in WU, he's one of my favorites. Plus the OTP is pretty cute:

I actually think it was Tae-hee's story that got a bigger spotlight because I'm pretty sure she wasn't billed as one of the top names of the story.
Neither was Oh Man Suk, though, and he was slated to die from day one so I assume they understood his significance. And IME's only drama before this was Hon/Soul, so she wasn't exactly a bankable star... maybe we're stumbling onto the real reason this drama had such a hard time finding a home.
The Hades thing! I forgot about that, I was expecting some kind of reveal too. I did GREATLY enjoy his smackdown of his mom though.

I just notice that "Tamra, the island" suffered the same fate as "What's up", that is, been edited down for whatever reason, and both of them were little sweet dramas with sincerity and a big heart.
I hope Im Ji Hwan dramas does have better prospect in the future.

You know Im Joo Eun had the same fate with her dramas? Hon/Soul went through a lot of cuts and re-dos as well. I wonder if their surnames are just cursed.
