DAMN YOU LONG DRAMATIC PAUSES. Until Takeru spoke my face was about two inches from the screen, not daring to breathe. (Unhealthy emotional investment, what?) Why do I get the feeling his confession just ruined the chances of Ruka confiding in him?
In a different world where I'm not waiting for Michiru to realize her inner lesbian, I could ship Takeru/Michiru*. It's a Dexter kind of thing, Takeru so damaged and attracted to what's safe** while Michiru is undemanding and certainly not looking for sex anytime soon as she recovers from her own traumas.

**Takeru/Ruka is so interesting from a gender/sexuality standpoint. The gay-acting straight guy in love with a gay girl with GID. If Takeru's really been sexually abused by a woman (which is where I'm assuming the thing with his sister is going, oh god this show has more issues than Neverland and that's saying something) and he shies away from sex-minded females, Ruka is the safest choice in the world for him, being so naturally masculine and attracted to another woman besides. She's never going to jump him and he knows it. And Takeru, Ruka is obviously comfortable with him and considers him someone she can open up to; he's her only non-threatening, non-grabby male friend. Oddly enough, their compatibility is why I hope they don't actually end up together -- I can't help but think they're drawn to each other as what they need, instead of having any true romantic feelings.
I'd still approve of sex, though.

I've never seen her cry the same way twice (which is amazing, considering that she must be contractually obligated to cry at least five times an episode) and she nailed this scene as robo-girlfriend, abused into submission.
When Sousuke called her from the apartment and she lied that she was there? I actually put my hand over my mouth. Talking about visceral reactions.

ilanabean42 and I were looking at the LF correlation chart -- the line connecting Michiru and Sousuke says "DV," which is real subtle, thank you show -- and this little boy is the line going to Sousuke labeled "key person." (At least, we think that's him, because he's wearing the same shirt as the kid in the first episode, which I thought was a nice touch if he's supposed to be neglected.) I guess they're going to woobify Sousuke by plying him with small children?
