i am going crazy!
in fact, i've gone to crazy, taken pictures, developed the pictures, framed the best ones, hung them up on my wall, realized i left my jacket in the hotel, and gone BACK TO CRAZY AGAIN.
it's crazy.
if you didn't know this already, i was "hired" at UMBC a couple weeks ago. "Hired" meaning they interviewed me to be the Marketing Coordinator in the Department of Professional Education, called me a week later asking me to take the job, been happy when I said yes, and then proceeded to tell me that until my recommendation goes through Human Resources, it won't be "official." THAT WAS TWO WEEKS AGO. Following my joyous rapture and unspeakable delight at this new development, I gradually returned to my normal state of unease after it has taken this long for them to get back to me. They are supposed to get back to me today, however I have received no call yet. The director lady has told me repeatedly not to worry, and that this is all normal and just a formality, but it still FREAKS ME OUT. i need to hear a definite thing to believe this is happening. i haven't even QUIT YET. i have been sitting here, working and acting like nothing was unusual, while all the while I am thinking about when the hell i will finally be able to quit. i stare at my cell phone and click "check mail" all day on my e-mail and STILL NOTHING. i mean, i understand the amount of red tape that is concerned when working with a state university but COME ON PEOPLE I AM DYIN HERE.
i am not one to deal well with a state of limbo in my life. on one side, my dreary and boring office life here, and on the other, the hope of a more interesting, easy and much closer (10 minutes from home BABY!) job that will possibly take away 90% of the stress in my life.

i know it's nothing to worry about. but i just need to HEAR IT. hear it "officially." this waiting is for the birds.
