"Asylum 7" or "How Misha won over a million hearts" - Friday
Hey all! I know I know, I've made myself extremely rare here and I'm sorry and I come bearing gifts? XD
So first things first - I didn't take a lot of pictures. I think I have almost more photo ops than everything else XD And second - the scanner hated me today, so photo ops will still be only bad photographs of the original. I will exchange them as soon as I can. Really sorry.
After getting up at an almost unreasonable time (speak: 5:30 AM) my journey went smoothly and without any problems at all. I arrived 10:25 AM in Birmingham, waited for sijay at the airport and together we went for our hotel. Once again I wasn't staying at the Hilton but at a small Hotel about 15 min walking distance away. We checked in and then went to the Hilton to see if there are already people around we know. It felt weird stepping back into the world of conventions. It felt ages ago and yet like yesterday when I was there the last time. My heart was hammering like crazy when we entered the lobby and already saw loads of fangirls standing and walking around. :D
To shorten Friday I just say - it was chaotic. It seemed as if Rogue Events had forgot everything they've learned these last years of organising conventions. Everything started 2 hours late which is an absolute record. Then the registration by groups failed and at some point I just went in and saw that the table for my group was almost empty. The told me then to come back half an hour later to go for the package with my photo ops. I went back an hour later and still waited for another half an hour in line. (a funny queue that split into two lines shortly after the table. The people at the end of those two lines wondered which queue to choose XD). Some staff members where slightly histerical by this point and I especially felt for a woman that was close to tears and was running off at some point shouting "I CAN'T DO THIS!" (She was fine later and she managed to survive the weekend XD). I guess I'm lucky because even though I don't have much patience for lots of stuff I have nearly endless patience at conventions. No matter how long I have to wait and how long the line is I stay calm and just chat with the girls around me :) It's probably the only way to stay sane LOL
So we met lots of our friends already (especially my dear MiscPlinks <33) and it was awesome to meet almost everyone of my twitter timeline already, but sijay and I went to bed around 11 being completely exhausted by the long day, knowing the following days wouldn't be easier on us XD We didn't go to the party (that started 2 hrs too late anyway) knowing it won't be anything special.
