Since I'm supposed to work on my paper I thought I could finally make the entry about my long weekend with my friends at the book fair :P
It's going to be loads of pictures so I'll pack it into a cut - don't want your flists zu explode XD
We got up thursday morning half past 4... I still don't know who of us had this ridiculous idea... at least it wasn't me driving, so I could continue my sleep in the backseat of the car :P
We parked at the youth hostel around 9AM and made our way with bus and tram to the exhibition halls. The ones in Leipzig are one of the biggest in Germany and I've been there before for concerts and the Games Convention before it moved. 5 enormous halls and this time they're packed with books, books, books and books. I love books.
book shelves as high as the hall itself...
old books...
Mangas en masse...
bondage books... XD
We made a trip into the city to eat in Auerbachskeller - yes, THE one where Goethe got his idea for Faust :D
and this is THE original room from the 16th century where the students got their wine and Faust rode his wine barrel out of the house :) It's still allowed to sit on the one you can see in the pic, although you have to book the whole room for 20 people. *tsk*
afterwards there was a delicious regional meal - Marinated beef, 2 potato dumplings (no idea if this is right, it sounds weird, but my dictionary said so XD) and red cabbage. It was amazing.
And every evening we went to a Mexican Restaurant to eat equally delicious food and drink cocktails. Since it's in eastern Germany it was so wonderful cheap! After the whole evening we paid for everything as much as we would have paid in Munich for just the meal itself XD
this Paella... dear god, it was a dream and it's the first time in ages I didn't manage to eat all of a meal - it was just too much! :D
Another highlight of the weekend are the cosplayers at the fair. They are there every year and for 2 years now, they have their very own hall dedicated to mangas and everything that belongs to it. And that hall usually is the most packed with people. No place if you are claustrophobic XD
yeah... we needed a few minutes to get through this XD It doesn't make it easier that everyone of these people wants into another direction XD
And now have some amazing costumes :)
my favourite :D
At the end of 2 days we already had an impressive collection of books as the following pic shows - after 4 days we added another 2 of those towers... XD
And that was that. It was a brilliant long weekend and we would love to the the same next year, but unfortunately there'll be something called final exams in our way *meh* :P
