Ghost Writer
Hello, I'm new here, though I've lurked for a little while. ^__^
I don't want to go into a rant about the ghost writer because...hee, let's not even go there, but there is one particular thing that keeps bothering me.
This last week, I decided to reread a few of the earlier novels and something bugged me...
Something I noticed was how Neiderman would sometimes use descriptions word for word from previous novels that V.C. wrote herself. I'm not sure if he did it to make readers who were familiar with V.C.'s work feel that she was still writing them, but I find it distracting more than anything. I was re-reading Dawn and got to the rape scene and the familiarity of it actually make me put down the book a second and go "....wait...".
(sorry that of all the examples I used this one, but it's the most similar)

I've noticed it in other places too, in the Casteel series, etc., and was wondering if anyone else notices it... lol, and if it distracts anyone as much it does me? Whenever it happens it reminds me that I'm NOT reading something V.C. wrote herself. It's only in the books he wrote shortly after she died that it bothers me... because his later works...well, it's very obvious V.C. didn't write those.
Maybe I'm just being anal...or perhaps I've read the Doll series way too much so that I can automatically recognize a passage from it.
