Opening scene with DaVinci impersonating Riario was a stroke of genius and almost made up for the latter not being in the episode.
Unlike Riario, Alfonso is clearly not a complex villain in the making. He's mostly a sleazy pain in the backside who thankfully got bested by DaVinci and the gang as well as the slaves on the ship as well.
I assume we will see more of him though given that we've got more episodes to go through.
Nice scenes with Lorenzo and Clarice giving each other some home truths in this one. Intrigued by Carlo's rather convenient arrival. I do feel bad for Vanessa being stuck with the Medicis though.
Lucrezia and Mercuri had some good scenes together and the Sixtus plot is a lot better now than it was back in the first season.
Zoroaster and Amerigo's sniping had it's moments and I liked the submarine stuff but am kind of bored of seeing Al Rahim being trotted out for cryptic exposition and not much else.
Otherwise, I did enjoy this one though, 7/10
