Five Things

Yes, another. It's Tuesday and I am a little bored. So here's another Five Things.

1: Skeletons In My Home Town

No, this really has happened. Skeletal remains of famine victims were found when the council were doing roadworks a few feet from my house and it's been talked about for a bit now. There's a write up of it here ... http://www.independent.ie/national-news/remains-of-up-to-a-dozen-people-could-be-victims-of-great-famine-2988838.html

2: Don't Mess With The Simm

Don't like Simm's portrayal of the Master? Here's a tip - don't bloody tell him on Twitter or you'll get this for a response ...

"For those grown ups ANGRY about how the Master was written/portrayed... please don't tell me, tell someone who gives a ¤¤¤¤¤¤. #Therapist!? X"

You can't blame the guy, can you? Fair enough, if you don't like his take on the character but there are better ways/means of getting that point across without being a complete dick about it. Oh and in the coolest thing ever - I just realised that John Simm is following Frances Barber on Twitter. The Master is following Madame Kovarian - surely those two should clash in Series 7, right? Come on, Moff, it practically writes itself.

One more thing - catching up with the Series 1 repeats of Mad Dogs in time for Series 2 on Thursday. And Simm has confirmed that they're filming Series 3 of the show in South Africa pretty soon as well.

3: We'll Take The Gillan (As A Shrimpton)

Radio Times have given Karen Gillan her first non Amy Pond related cover (come on, Arthur, do something non Rory related for TV and you might get one) and there's an interview with her about her role as 60's model Jean Shrimpton for We'll Take Manhattan. The gents might be pleased to know the girl is single again though. I can't wait to see Kazza in this - which airs Thursday 9pm on BBC4 from January 26th and she's got a romcom called Not Another Happy Ending where she plays an eccentric writer as well, which means that so far, a career away from playing Amy is beckoning nicely enough.

4: Matthew Rhys

RTE2 have been airing the fifth and final season of Brothers And Sisters but I have the DVD in case I need a reminder of the awesomeness of Kevin Walker though. More to the point - The Mystery Of Edwin Drood was bloody brilliant with Rhys being menacing, tragic, sympathetic and pathetic at different points - a possible successor for John Simm as the Master? Maybe, maybe not but if it ever happens, then it would be a cool thing. Yeah, I think he'd be my candidate after Simm comes back one more time and goes toe to toe with Eleven.

5: Jessie J - Domino

Currently number 1 in the charts. I like it - it's a fun enough soon and I'm curious to see what her coaching skills will entail when The Voice airs on BBC1. If the Irish version is good, it bodes well for the British one.
