(no subject)
I just got back from dinner with Jane Yolen, Tony DiTerlizzi, and their respective spouses. (I knew I kept olivia_circe around for something...) It was a really great meal, most likely the best Ariel and I will have in this week of tragic dining hall-less living.
Angela DiTerlizzi is really cool. We heard lots of publishing industry gossip from her and Jane (and occasionally Tony), while David said largely random things. David is neat. He announced that tiramisu is actually Japanese. (aside: David's pronouncements seem to be very special things. Once at a party he announced that someone had no hair on his body. Ten years later the story made it into Esquire magazine. Now even the person in the story is going along with the myth.)
So far, my decision to stay at school has been good for me. I've been hanging out in the room with Ariel, sleeping, watching tv, reading comic books, and eating take-out food. All in all, a refreshing break from the regular pace of my life.
