For quite some time I'd been trying to convince Beau that we had room in our home for a third dog. I was getting nowhere since most of the burden of caring for the dogs (washing, feeding, vet trips) falls to him and he thought taking care of three dogs was way too much to deal with. Then I got sneaky and bookmarked the website for the Gwinnett County Animal Shelter on his computer. After taking a few looks at the site, he decided that maybe we should just go visit and look at a few dogs. We both were pretty determined to adopt a large, older dog since they're usually harder to find homes for. We looked at a Mastiff, a Dutch Shepherd, a German Shepherd mix, a Husky, and several Pitt Bulls. Then Beau saw a Chow mix that stole his heart. She reminded us both of 2 Chow mixes we had in the past (Hannah and Azriel) that we lost to cancer. After visiting with her for a few minutes, it was decided that she'd be joining our family. We named her Lenore (yep, Poe reference) and she's a happy, bouncy, goofy girl who fits right in with Teddy and Pandora!
