ME Technology???

OK, I have a question for all of you about the ME Technology. I know it was created by the goverment to wipe out the memories of people that come into contact with contractors. I'm a little confused as to how it works though. I always thought it was the contractors that could access the technology through hells gate, because in the end of the

A month-late delayed comment, but I'm bored and I feel like geeking over something X3b

Another thing to note, I think a few times during the series they used the ME to program the dolls (once during the Chiaki arc and I think another mentioning later on during the Yin arc about her "minimal program", but I could be wrong, it has been a while DX)

Unless I missed something too? My impression is it's another of those open-ended questions they left behind over the series. Like how the Contractors and Dolls were really created, that RCR field they mentioned in the first few episodes (can't remember the full name DX) that they said all contractors had while a few contractors exhibit the fact that they don't have it, et cetera et cetera.

IMO, I think it's one of those government-esque things to keep the public from finding out about the contractors by manipulation of memories, while people like the Syndicate could use their connections to create dolls for their own needs by wiping the memories of the humans in question and reprogram them Yin anyone?. But judging by Chiaki, though it's up to debate whether it was the real Chiaki's memories or the doll's implanted ones, she was able to fixate on the memory of her incident with the contractors killing her parents that she wasn't able to forget. Which leaves it open that its not necessarily for purely blanking out memories, but just keeping them out of the minds of the oblivious and keeping it under wraps if possible. Which explains by the end of the series they mentioned the public is becoming aware of their existence. Both because of the contractors coming from underground, and the people themselves no longer being in denial enough to allow the ME to work to its fullest effect.

But that's just my two cents. Don't mind meeee~ ♥

It's amazing how many different conclusions one can come up with. I thought that there was just to big of an incident to be able to wipe every ones memories of it.
