The yellow lit world appears first in the scene with Nick. The scene in which they had the Meteor Fragment. Was wondering if it was the power of the Meteor fragment that fulfils the wielder's dreams, just before the release of energy kills them, since that was what happened in the scene with Nick, ie Nick saw his sister again and blasted off into space with her in a rocket. Then the scene cuts back to Hei who is sitting in a huge crater. Nick is by this time, gone. Presumably dead.
In which case, when Hei had the fragment shoved into his chest by Amber and was transported into the yellow lit world, he saw the true stars again and his sister. Only difference was that he didn't choose to stay in that alternate reality but instead choose to return? Had a theory that Hei should have died, but Amber used her remaining power to reset time to before that happened.
If the meteor fragment only manifests the wielder's dreams, then the people in the yellow-lit world aren't actually real, they'd be more like reconstructed memories of the user. Which could mean that the farewells that Hei was making could be a way of him seeking some form of closure so that he could move on.
Of course, most of this is speculation since it was never really revealed explicitly in the show as to what the meteor fragment actually does.
ahhh. My interpretation of her power from the previous episode was that she could show events prior to them happening or "possible events." Amagiri had a vision of being attacked by Mai and then realized what it was and then preemptively blasted her down. (Unfortunately she got back up.)
Likewise, I think what she was doing was showing Hei the possibility of the world where he would be by himself.
And I'm not too sure that Nick "died." It's possible he was obliterated, but I also considered that he just got yanked elsewhere. However, I also wondered about that yellow-lit world because if it was just Hei's mind, he should be able to bring back those folks anytime, right? The way it was so final on part of Bai and Amber made me question that. Then again, who knows? We'll have to go nail down the writers on this to ask them if they were being intentionally vague or if there was an analogy they had in mind.
Hrm. that scene with Amagiri is a little confusing. Thought that here, he died, she rewound time, he looked at the egg in his hand, said something like 'Amber' and then blasted the area that Mai was standing in.
Any power that meddles with the continuity of time can be so very confusing for onlookers. Bah. XP
About the yellow lit scene, I'd also kill to know what Hei was going to say to Amber before she cut him off. But that's besides the point.
It's definitely some kind of time power, but not sure. Amber did stop the flow of time at the temple. She also though made reference to seeing the future . Whether she did that by stepping out of the flow of time, or acting more like a "medium" like some of the folks in the lab, I don't know.
We never got to see much from Amber's POV, other than that one temple scene, so I still remain a bit confuzzled by what the writers tried to throw at us.
Thought that when she saw the future, it was because she jumped herself forwards and then jumped back. Or maybe, she's already seen the future and she's just reversed the whole world's time so that she can do something about it. Which seems so much more complicated.
The temple scene might show that Amber still likes Hei. Ha. Ever since that time in South America where she commented albeit enviously on Hei's close relationship with Bai, she's still liked Hei. Or I could just be shamelessly shipping. Heh.
