Wolf (Werner, Johan, Daniel)

Dec 11, 2009 00:05

Johan was ferried to the doctor by his brother, Daniel. Daniel remained quite stoic the entire time, leading Johan to wonder what exactly Daniel was thinking about all this. Daniel wasn't exactly forthcoming on that subject, choosing to wallow by himself, if he was in fact wallowing.

When Johan and Daniel returned to Johan's home, Daniel helped him up to the door because Johan was still feeling incredibly weak. His doctors had promised his new medications should start to improve his condition in a few days, but Johan would believe it when he felt it.

Daniel disappeared around the door once Johan was safely inside. Johan knew that Daniel was probably about to fetch him something to eat, because his younger brother had been rather adamant about the fact that Johan wasn't eating enough. Johan took his time hanging his coat up and then he heard his little brother gasp.

"Johan! There's a wolf in your kitchen!!"

Johan blinked and then he hastened to reply, "she won't hurt you!" At least...he hoped she wouldn't as he rushed to join Daniel. If 'she' happened to be Klara, Daniel was safe. Johan didn't know if Viola would hesitate to attack his brother, though he did wonder why either of them were in the kitchen in wolf-form.

When Johan stepped into the kitchen to find his brother frozen in fear, facing a wolf who was staring him down, he found it wasn't a 'she' at all, and happy butterflies erupted in his stomach. "...Werner?"

Immediately Werner turned to face Johan and the wolf's entire demenour changed. He went from defensive to happy, his tail wagged and his tongue lolled and he leapt across the room to Johan's side, where he stood on his hind legs so he could place his front paws on Johan's shoulder to lick the man's face. Daniel stayed frozen, staring at this obvious display of affection between his brother and what he had mistaken for a wild animal.

"Werner, wh...you're here!" Johan buried his face in Werner's fur and then he planted a kiss on Werner's furry face, right between his eyes. His husband was here. It was wonderful. "Did you come to help find Mara."

"Oh shit, that wolf just nodded, didn't it?" Daniel asked, his voice thin.

Johan broke out of his absolute joy at seeing his husband, and he turned to Daniel. "It's quite alright, Daniel. This is my husband, Werner."

"Uhm..." Daniel looked like he wanted to wake up. "What? That's not funny!" Werner dropped back to four legs and he padded across the room to Daniel. There, he sat in front of the younger man and he stared up at him, yellow wolf eyes locked on to Daniel's. "W..what's he doing, Johan."

Johan chuckled and he went to lean against the wall so he could remain standing. Seeing Werner gave him a fantastic boost of energy, but he still felt like he might expire sometime soon. "He's trying to make you nervous. Werner... This might be easier if you could talk too."

Werner turned to look at Johan for a moment, and then he jumped up and disappeared around the kitchen corner. Johan took that opportunity to move to the little seating area so he could sit.

"Johan. What is going on?" Daniel asked earnestly.

"I forgot you hated canines so much," Johan said, amused. "I remember Mother bought you a dog and you screamed for two weeks until she sold it. You wouldn't even let her give it to one of the cousins because it might 'find out you gave it away and come looking for you'.

"That dog was evil. He stalked me." Daniel was completely serious.

"He did not stalk you! Dogs follow their people around. It has very little to do with stalking, and more to do with being a pack animal."

Daniel shook his hands around and he stepped over to Johan. "That still doesn't explain why you happen to have a wolf who understands you when you spea-"

Werner re-entered the room, buttoning one of Johan's shirts up so he wasn't naked around Johan's brother. He grinned at Johan, who returned the expression. "Ah, Werner."

Werner took a seat beside Johan, who immediately leaned against him. Daniel's eyes followed Werner the entire time, and then he finally managed to utter a soft, "oh."

"Werner is a werewolf," Johan explained and he turned to kiss Werner's cheek.

"Yeah, I...just put that together," Daniel stammered, running a hand through his hair. "So he is your husband. Uhm...great. Demons, angels, vampires and now werewolves. Right. And you're...like Thomas?" That was probably the most sensitive way Daniel could think of to say 'dead' in front of his brother the widower.

Werner nodded. "It actually makes the whole werewolf thing a bit of a breeze. When I was alive, it was such a drag." Then he turned to face his husband. "My poor Johan. How are you feeling?"

"Like hel-" Johan sighed and shook his head. "It doesn't matter. You're here. Thank you for coming, Werner. Spectre will need you."

Werner nodded. He knew. And Spectre was not the only one who would need him, either.

Daniel looked at them both and he took a step backward. "It's uhm...nice to meet you. I should...I'll see you later, Johan." And he beat a hasty retreat.

"Dedrich, hmm?" Werner asked, kissing Johan's cheek. It was incredibly clear that Werner wasn't too keen on Daniel being around. He didn't trust Daniel not to sell Johan up the river. Johan understood perfectly and he loved Werner for that all the more. "And he's treating you well?"

"He's fine," Johan replied. "It's still awkward, but we're getting there. I think you gave him quite the fright."

"A big gay werewolf? Yes, I can't imagine the Nazi was too thrilled about that." Werner didn't look like he cared that Daniel had been uncomfortable. Before Johan could say anything, Werner pulled Johan into his arms and he held his husband quietly. "I'm here now, Love. I'll take you upstairs and then I'll make you something to eat."

"But...Mara-"

"I'll go help the search when you've fallen asleep," Werner soothed. "You're sick and I want to take care of you."

Johan was still sick, but his husband's presence and the man's loving care made his stomach feel warm and gooey with happiness. Oh how he had missed this. He hadn't realised how much he had needed Werner here until he had seen him in the kitchen. And now, if Werner was going to take care of him, Johan was not about to complain for a second.
