Ah, finally I get a break! Finals were hell, and it is great to be done with them. It was especially unpleasant because I started to get sick on Friday, and it hit hard sunday evening, the night before I had 2 exams (Electrical Networks and Physics III). I was up until 2 studying for the Electrical Networks exam even though it began at 7:00 AM (yeah, I have a habit of studying late). It wouldn't have been so bad except I had coughing fits for an hour before I could sleep. Sorry if I woke you up Joe or Yuri.
Anyway, I walked into the exam feeling somewhat confident, although drugged to hell. I thought the exam was really difficult and tricky. I was reasonably confident with some of my answers, but others were off the wall and not integers or anything. I knew that I only needed 72% to keep my A in the class, but I was worried that I blew it after I walked out of the exam.
I then went to sleep for about 2 hours to recoup, and studied for Physics III after that. Even though I went to a study group the day before, I hadn't studied a whole lot for that class. Fortunately I only needed about a 52% to keep my A in there due to the weight of the final and the grading scale for the physics dept (85+ = A). I took that exam and felt very confident with my answers. I even finished an hour early, even after checking my answers over, and usually I am one of the last to leave for any exam.
Well, I emailed my electrical networks professor today and got a reply telling me I got an A in the course and a 110/120 on the final. I was shocked...I thought I bombed it. Oh well, I'm not complaining. It feels great to get good grades after you study hard and kill yourself while being sick.
I'm feeling a lot better now that I have gotten some rest and such. Heather was really great to me a couple days ago...she bought me chicken soup and dinner and catered to me because I felt so crappy. Thanks to her I am feeling a lot better now. I really do love her.
Right now I am at her place and going to spend the night. Tomorrow I plan on starting to pack my stuff so I can get ready to move to the new room in Hercules with Joe. After that I'll probably go home to Royal Palm Beach for 4 to 5 days to visit family and friends - it will probably be the last time in a while (perhaps ever, but hopefully not) since my parents are moving to St. Augustine this June/July. I will definitely want to make some trips down there to visit friends (Nick, Chris, Paul, and Randy) after they move, but I know it will be hard to find time. Well, Orlando has a lot of technical jobs, and Nick and Chris are both going to school for work in the IT field, so perhaps one day they will work here as I plan to. I'm not so sure about Paul...it is possible, but I don't forsee it within the next 5 years. I really hope he finishes highschool soon. I want to see him make something of his life.
