Oh, it's not terrible. It's a typo. It literally happens all the time. I've corrected 3 in this sentence so far. The problem is the people who are going to make a big deal over something that really isn't a big deal. Should they have caught it BEFORE publishing? Yes. Did a mistake happen? Yes. Should anyone take it personal? No, dammit. (6, btw.)

I meant the whole incident was terrible (and darkly comedic). No big deal as far as it being a typo, yes, but the editors should have caught something like that before it was published. I do agree that people should not take it personal.

I can understand why some people would be offended, but it would have been just as funny if it had been 'white pepper' ... the whole thing simply proves that while automatic spelling and grammar checkers are great for a first cut at editing, nothing beats a human being doing the final check!
