Unlocked for everybody else to join in the fun! :D
Ok, so, I'm really sorry I never got round to doing an Aya writeup, and I probably won't do, it was too long ago now, haha. There may or may not be a post of photos at some point, when I finally get them on the damn computer.
It was a really good weekend and I had a lot of fun, wasn't the omgbestconEVAR but it was really nice, so yey.
The few days I spent with Rem were wonderful, we did a lot of LARPing again, some of it was absolutely HILARIOUS. We had female characters, and we brought in two male characters to interact with them and give it a little variety - one for each.
Only, then we thought "wouldn't it be interesting if the male characters met up..." and it ended up being so funny and so much fun that we neglected the poor girls a bit, but we had an awesome time.
We also played crazy golf and I think I lost, but Rem told me I won and wouldn't let me see the score sheet XD
and bought plastic swords from the toy shop and ended up having a sword fight in the city centre, a proper one 'cos she was teaching me (part of her course was stage fighting, so...)
BUT, the main point of this post was because O.M.G.
Yesterday I got up at a ridiculous hour to travel into London to join Rem, Sophie and Charly to go and see the PREMIERE SCREENING of Merlin season 2, Episode 1, WITH THE CAST.
So yea, I got up at 4am, and caught the 5.15am bus, because Rem was catching an overnight coach and was going to be in from 7, so I thought I'd get the nice early coach that got in at 7.30 to keep her company.
We went for breakfast, which was nice, and had a bit of a wander round London, which wasn't very exciting because I swear to GOD nothing in London opens before 12 on a Sunday, it's insane.
We ended up in the arcade at the Trocadero where I showed off on the dance machines XD
At 11.30 we met up with Sophie and Charly and went ..uh..back to the Trocadero to go dance some more, and play a couple of other arcade games, before heading for the BFI, where the screening was.
After a small mishap (*cough*charlyleftherpurseatthetroc*cough*) we met up with some of Sophie's LJ friends, who were all totally awesome - Merlin-themed cookies, Morgana/Gwen and Morgana/Uther 'shipper t-shirts, and deckchairs, hurrah - and then headed over to the BFI to pick up our tickets and stuff.
Hilarious, there was FREE STUFF YEY, and then a whole bunch of activities going on, all aimed at kids, and I think all the staff were bemused by this horde of twenty-something LJ fangirls taking over the place (and there was a horde of us) - the host of the screening said something to that effect, it was hilarious.
The screening and the Q&A... oh my god it was amazing... I'm too tired (well, lazy) to do any sort of proper review/transcript, so here are the things I wish to say:
* OH MY GOD IT'S SO GAY. And I mean that in the best possible way. It's almost worse than season 1. Merlin getting down on all fours for Arthur to mount his horse. Semi-naked Arthur in bed calling for Merlin. Merlin saying "everything I do is for him". THERE WAS SO MUCH I'VE EVEN FORGOTTEN BITS.
* Bradley shouting out "he deserved it!" when everybody was Aww-ing Merlin, then being all adorkably triumphant when everybody 'aww'ed him getting less fanmail than Colin - LOL I love him.
* Also Bradley's sarcastic little 'yey' about having to eat vegetarian food because of Colin (because Colin's veggie, anything they both have to eat has to be vegetarian)
* Anthony Head honest-to-god giggling, he was clearly very tickled by Bradley because you could just see him giggling away the whole time it was SO cute.
* Angel and Katie not-so-subtly pointing to Bradley at the 'is anyone's personality like their character's?' question.
* "Merlin and Arthur are going to grow old together." *fangirl squee* "Is that Merlin and Arthur or Colin and Bradley?" *bigger fangirl squee*
NO REALLY BRADLEY, ILU.
* clotpole. Really Merlin wtf? What's wrong with prat?
*Preview....NGH.... srsly this season looks like it's going to be SO. FREAKIN. EPIC.
Yea, anyway it was just really, really awesome overall.
Afterwards we waited outside because there was autograph potential, and we were rewarded.
Colin and Bradley and the others had to shoot off I think, or they just snuck off (... shush fangirl brain, really...) but we did get Anthony and Katie come out to sign autographs. Katie was lovely, though she had to leave as well quite soon and I already met her at expo so I didn't go bother her again, but Anthony...
My awesome DW/scifi/fantasy-loving nerdy uncle demanded a "To Craig, love Anthony Stewart Head" autograph... so I decided to be really nice and get it for him.
And I did, WOOT.
Anthony is a seriously nice guy. Everything I've read from other people who met him made him sound really lovely, and when I told him I was a massive Buffy fan and I thought he made an excellent Uther, he said "Thank you, thank you" and looked really genuinely pleased. I think it's lovely, after all those years of being Giles he must be more than used to fangirls by now, I think it's really nice that he still seems genuinely thankful of praise.
I wanted Charly to ask him to join Avalon as Uther, but she didn't, and I didn't dare either, haha, but that would have been hilarious XD
Rem ALMOST said "Hi dad!" but she chickened out too XD
Then we had to say goodbye to Sophie and her friends and we headed off, we went to TGI Friday's for awesome tasty foodage and then I had to get the bus home, sadface leaving Rem :(
Got home at like twelve and basically fell into bed.
EPIC weekend. I didn't really get any pictures apart from one of Rem with Anthony, and I think a couple from TGI's, which I might post at some point if they're interesting enough XD
If anybody was at the screening, I probably should have mentioned, I was the girl in the blue t-shirt that said "Merlin" on the front and "Emrys" on the back (which, omg, when they asked the question about what Mordred calls Merlin, I was jumping up and down pointing at the back of my t-shirt XD), and Rem was wearing the red one that said "Arthur" and "Pendragon".
If I talked to you at all, or hell, even if I didn't, feel free to add me :D
