[Sup Johto, had enough of black birds that lurk in the shadows and steal your shiny little objects? Hope not, because this video feed features even more of them. About six of them can be seen standing not too far from the camera, calmly poking something on the ground and -- for once -- not bothering anyone nor being bothered by anyone ( Read more... )

[Wouldn't ya know it, Heather's somewhat nearby, with her own Murkrow in her arms.]

Never seen this many wild ones in one place before... maybe it's a migration thing.

[MURKROW TRAINERS UNITE.]

Actually, I've never seen any of 'em in the wild before. Guess that must be it, unless it's that "bad omen" thing people keep talking about. [Strongly suggesting he doesn't believe any of it.]

Well, where I come from, crows and ravens are pretty... ominous symbols. [Heather's fairly selective about what superstitions she buys into and what ones she doesn't, but it was hard to ignore it entirely.]

I mean, I OWN one, so I know there's a high possibility that it's bullcrap, but...

[Wren was already kicking her legs at the air and nibbling irritably at Heather's wristcuffs. >8C WANT DOWN.]

Huh... Dunno, I've never actually paid attention to such stuff. [He wouldn't have named himself after that particular bird if he had, would he.]

This guy-- [He points at Black Lance, who's growing interested in the new Murkrow arrival in Heather's arms.] --has been with me for almost a year and I'm still breathing, so it can't be that bad...

Heh, well I never said they were omens of death...

[She holds up Wren, who's only a few months old and still more or less in that ridiculous-looking adolescent stage where everything is awkward and fluffy.]

I mean, look at this thing. Does this look deathly to you?

[He shrugs at that.] I'm pretty good in general, so don't think getting him was really an omen of anything. [... Crow, you have relived your worst nightmares, watched your brother figures disappear at least twice each, faced a psychopathic murderer, got beaten to a pulp by bugs and lost two very close friends. How about starting noticing the downside of things?]

Not in the slightest! [He smiles at the Pokemon -- he has a soft spot for both children and birds, so the combination really appeals to him. He reaches out to pet the crow, but stops his hand in mid-air--]

--May I?

[The question is directed more at Wren rather than Heather, really.]

[Heather's ... pretty bad with animals in general. It's amazing she's done as well with her own team as she has.]

[She grins a little at the question, though.]

Watch out, she likes fingers.

[Sure enough, if he does pat her, she will immediately start beak-nomming on his hand because she is a FEROCIOUS WILD ANIMAL ARRRRRRH.]
