I always thought of him as kind of "omni-sexual" (not a word?). It is very clear that he has a real thing for Richard's Sword of Truth. He caresses it a lot whenever he has a chance.(See: "Conversion", "Reckoning" and the last portion of "Unbroken".)

Aw man, this is all so true! XD I ROFL'ed so much at this it's ridiculous! (Though of course ridiculous is not a word that applies to Lord Rahl ;) )
