A random entry about superhero films

(This entry will make no sense, because it jumps from topic to topic.)

You know, despite all the superhero movies out there, Spiderman is still my favourite. In secondary school, I could recite the opening lines of Spiderman because I watched it so many damn times.

"Who am I? You sure you wanna know? The story of my life is not for the faint-hearted..."

I love it because Peter Parker had so many things not going for him - he's broke, socially an outcast, overshadowed, suffering from an unrequited love - and he triumphed over it all and grew stronger for it.

Damn, now I want to watch Spiderman.

Incidentally, do you know that they are going to reboot Spiderman? Like WTF. I mean, okay, you rebooted Incredible Hulk because the first movie was a failure, but Spiderman was a bona-fide blockbuster hit! It's okay if you don't make Spiderman 4, but to reboot a successful series altogether?

So that's Spiderman.

Second on my list of superheros is the caped crusader, Batman. It was a tough fight between him and Ironman because you know, Ironman is also filthy rich and technologically advanced, plus hey, sense of humor.

I think if you were to meet Bruce Wayne and Tony Stark in real life and you crack a lame joke, Stark would probably make a snide remark and direct a droll look at Pepper Potts.

But Bruce Wayne would stare at you with his intensely unhumorless eyes and boot you out of his fancy penthouse.

Still, I like Batman. I like his brooding. I like the whole seediness and Gothicness of Gotham City. Plus black is always stylish. I'm sure Ironman is a fun guy to hang out with, but he's unreliable. Batman is always there, except when he's with.... oh hey! He doesn't have any love interest! Does Batman (in the comics) have any love interest? I know Rachel Dawes isn't canon and plus she died. Catwoman?

Speaking of love interest. The whole time I was watching Ironman 2, I was hoping to see more of the flirty bickering between Tony and Pepper that was so evident in Ironman.

Unfortunately they have been reduced to an old married couple.

Ironman 2 was okay, but I still prefer the first. And again, where's the Tony/Pepper love? Hahaha.

One of the reasons why I love Pepper Potts is because she isn't a shy damsel-in-distress, need-a-man kind of character. Even in Spiderman, Mary Jane was a damsel-in-distress.

But Pepper isn't. She's independent and capable, and she can twirl Tony around her little finger with just a few words.

This entry shall end abruptly here.
