“So, um, I’ll write - everyday.”
“Yeah, me too.”
“It shouldn’t take too long; a few weeks a most.” A pause. “I -” Hesitantly he met her eyes. “Are you sure?”
“I can’t. You know I can’t. We’ve been through this already -”
“Stay.”
She turned away, eyes stinging.
“Please stay?”
“I…I can’t. I’m only fourteen.”
“You’ll be fifteen soon.”
“I belong with my family. Please, try to understand -”
“I DO understand! I just thought - forget it.”
She flinched at the snap of wood, cool wind whipping into her face. Alone she trudged to the waiting ship.

He remembered carving her a necklace and his fingers bleeding when the knife slipped; he remembered way she kissed every one of those scars and how his heart had pounded when her lips slipped over his skin.
He remembered her dressed in her wedding robes, lilies twisted into her hair, as she walked towards him; remembered her gasp as she slipped and the splash as she fell into the Spirit Oasis.
He remembered the unnaturally icy chill of the water as he dove after her and the unmistakable presence of Koh, the Face Stealer.
3. Batman - untitled Harley Quinn drabble
Later she would declare it nothing more than a moment’s madness; a slip of insanity into the mundane reality of her life, when a withered heart stirred in response to the black sunshine of his smile.
Tantalizing half truths rained from blood red lips, nurturing the tender roots of her obsession. Entangled within the cruel twist of a grin she found a dangerous promise and bloomed, shedding the young petals of wasted youth for something stripped and sinister.
She found she wore it well.
4. IY -- untitled
He froze, for the first time hearing his newborn child’s cries. Relief washing over him as he began to shake, tears of thankfulness rolling down his face. His wife’s agony was finally through. His family was safe. The nightmare was over.
Her scream ripped into his flesh sharper than any demons talons.
Throwing the flimsy reeds aside he burst into the birthing room just as his infant child opened it’s eyes for the first time; uncurling it’s hand for the first time. He froze, unable to move in that moment of absolute madness as his beloved wife was dragged into the void she’d just birthed.
Screaming he dove for her, knowing already it was too late. Her young eyes - terrifed in the moment of death - burned into his mind. He’d been foolish to believe - to hope - the curse would end with him. His father had warned him but even so the terrible truth has never revealed itself until this very moment.
Distantly he heard the midwife’s screams fading as she ran from the hut as if the darkest demons of hell resided within. Perhaps they did, he mused cradling his now silent son, the cursed hand now properly sealed. Grimly he gazed at the infant in his arms.
5. Sailor Moon - untitled
Stoic. That's what she was. Cold as snow. An Ice Queen, he decided watching her from the elaborate study. A study much too large for just one woman. A study which also breathed coldness. And distance.
Everything around her screamed it. From the heavy curtains which blocked the view of the beauty outside to the thick carpet which silenced all movement. Even her gowns were overly heavy, and dark. Cold.
"Yes?" a chilled voice demanded. He felt a shiver run down his spine.
"The Ambassador of Earth is here your majesty," the elderly man beside him bowed deeply, his long gray hair nearly brushing the carpeting. She said nothing at first, just continued with her papers. The man did not move. Several minutes passed in an uncomfortable silence before she absently waved with her hand.
The elderly man quickly stood, a loud cracking sound was heard as his old bones disapproved such a quick movement. The scratching of her pen stilled long enough to catch all off guard. "Sorry, your Majesty." He quickly bowed again before hurrying away. Sighing she pushed herself from the marble desk, her ice blue eyes locking onto his for the first time.
"Ambassador?" Nervously he staggered forward bowing clumsily, her ice-blue eyes still sending shivers down his spine.
"Yo-our Majesty," he drawled, his tongue unable to form the words.
6. HYD -- untitled
The door gave way with a soft click and she quickly stepped inside from the bitter cold. Pausing to remove her snow covered shoes Tsukushi gazed at her empty apartment. Well that wasn’t quite true. Half unpacked boxes littered her floor, dirty clothing decorating her drab furniture like colorful throws.
Since he’d left she’d wanted for nothing. He’d made sure of it despite her frequent and usually loud protests. Still all the expensive gifts in the world didn’t make up for his absence. Then again she’d known it wouldn’t.
