Sad
Today we lost both Farrah Fawcett and Micheal Jackson. Farrah was expected but the news of Micheal's passing popping up on the internet took me by surprise.
Lord, I feel old, these people were celebrities of my youth. Micheal was seven months younger than I am. I am sad, shocked, and kind of angry. When I went to the store tonight, the teenage checkers were making bad jokes about Micheal. I know a lot of people didn't like him but I was raised not to speak ill of the dead.
Sigh.
Speaking of my upbringing, my mother being of Yankee/ French Canadian stock was a font of folklore. She said these things come in threes, and this time she was right. Ed McMahon, Farrah and Micheal.
Rest well Farrah and Micheal, you were great.
As I grow older and more and more people around me pass on, it is like the lights in a room going out. One by one.
