Things are beginning to look up:
I went to see my nurse practitioner today...she managed to get me a discount so I could come into the office for $65 instead of $115. She's the same person I've been seeing off and on for the last 16 years, so I really trust her and she knows me and my body pretty well.
She changed my antibiotics and told me to come back Monday so the wounds can be repacked. And she said she also believes the abscesses were caused by spider bites (which the ER doctor said was not possible!). And it's been an hour and a half since I took my first antibiotic and I'm still not itching all over or vomiting or having trouble breathing, so I think we're home free on this one, which is nothing short of wonderful. Now I won't be taking a handful of pills just to try keeping my antibiotic down or it putting me in the hospital.
Did a little shopping on the way home...and now I have whole wheat bread again. And while Mom and Mike are going crazy about cookies...I bought myself some... *G* So I'll have cookies for a week or two.
And in the spirit of things looking up, I'm just thankful for my blessings and good friends.
