It was an honour, sir.

Nethaniel was marvellous to play with, and I shall look forwards to meeting you once more in the field. Thank you for many years of good fun...

I'm glad you've enjoyed it too!

As I think I mentioned elsewhere, you will likely become involved in my new character too, though for entirely different reasons...

Sheriff - Nethaniel never really got into the Sheriffing game. I believe I originally signed up because the High Sheriff at the time (I think it may have been Aldous - pretty sure I was already a sheriff when Karnak stepped up) was desperate for recruits. .

Yes and No.

Aldous was technically High Sheriff but Vincenzo and Mudboy were acting, but Karnak was doing the job and Karnak persuaded you, much the same way he got Caileb his ffirst faction job. Can he spot talent or what ;)

a random act of kindness

I miss them ;)

It sounds like you had a last day or two like Polly's strangely prophetic, its sad to lose him and I know its going to have a huge effect on Karnak this year and not least because I need to find a new master....

Thanks for the reminder - it was several years ago by now, of course!

The random act of kindness is probably one of my fondest memories of the whole eight years.

I think the intention had been for Seraphim to initiate you anyway, as I was already doing Bezerka. On the other hand, we lost two people that wanted to be Paladins too, so there's now less competition!

New definition of awkward- writing your obituary and seriously weling up doing it. whilst Ceri is tring to insert herself inside my ribcage in the throes of her latest Disney inspired fear

I can see how that could be difficult, and potentially a challenge to explain.

It was a lovely obituary though - thanks! Again, it brought memories back...

Sigh. I'm going to miss Nethaniel. The Celestials just won't be the same without him and Elrood.

I loved Nethaniel as a character. I think I internet-yelled at Gwen for ten solid minutes for having the gall to break the news. I'm really sad my new character won't get to know him, but am rather excited for your new one.

I felt the same way when Neantog died - I was gutted as I'd had some really good times with her and was really disappointed that I wouldn't get to continue watching her military career continue and work with her on that (and other things). You gave me a lovely obit, by the way!

I'm also excited about the new character and the chaos I might cause with him :-)

My pleasure, hon. It took a while to work out what someone who had mostly known of him through other people's experiences might say, and therefore was having those good preconceptions backed up, but I'm happy with it.

Neantog counted Nethaniel as one of her closest friends - she didn't admit how scared she was to many people, and he was probably top of the list. I still occasionally miss their intense little pep talks, it would have been awesome to see where all of that led.

It's safe to say that some of the best RP experiences I have had since joining LT have involved you, and I really hope to continue that, but with added chaos.

Given those restrictions, you really did do a very nice job. You said a lot of things that would have made Nethaniel very happy.

It was a relationship that simply worked. All the way from Redman first telling Nethaniel that he'd chosen Neantog and receiving an incredulous, "Well, ok. It's your choice..." all the way to nominating her to be Faction Champion and telling people that one day she would be Warlord! Her growth over that time was fantastic, and also really helped him to grow too.

Likewise - see you in a couple of weeks!
