Holiday Monsters
I'm sorry but I'm pissed and I have to let off some steam. I hate the Holidays right now. I do, because they make everyone into monsters. People just forget things like common sense and common courtesy towards fellow human beings. That's what the season is all about, cherishing your family, your friends and the phrase "Peace on Earth" means something folks, believe it or not! It means love thy neighbor as thyself, do unto others as you would have done unto you. No one seems to remember these little decencies at the Holidays. It's all about "Me me me!" and gifts and commercialism. Now don't get me wrong, I love modern commercialism at moments but these commercials are for material possessions. Period. That's it. There's no deep and touching meaning. It's for profit. That's all!!!
So what started me on this. Well, it took me an extra half-hour to get home today. Why? Because I was cut off 6 times, stuck sitting at a light(that was green) because the people ahead me were to afraid to cut off all the people who were running the red light opposite us. Me, I would have gone ahead, I have the right-of-way, you're stupid, you deserve what you get, you moron. An extra half-hour. Normally it only takes me half an hour to get home! Ever!! An hour today. Because I'm stuck between the biggest mistake of the county, and the mall. That's where I live. Between the mall and the giant stripmall better known as Central Park--no, not NY Central Park, FXBG Central Park, a giant strip mall that is eventually going to include gondolas across the river into whatever county is on the other side(I forget), several hotels, a small fair-ground, a concert-hall and a couple golf courses. And yet they do nothing for the added traffic this wonderful place causes. How kind. Not.
