I'm gonna make this brief cause i'm exhausted. Had our basketball tournament today, called Sportsfest, at fordham university up in the bronx. For a campus in the bronx, it looked wonderful, very old looking and well kept. 8 teams participated:
NYU
Stoneybrook
UConn
Queens College
Fordham University
City College (all the CUNY's combined)
Some college from New Jersey
St John's University.
First off, might as well just say it, lost in the semifinals, which sucked. It was a double elimiination tournament, and we lost to the same team twice, Stonebrook University. A lot of it was due to really really bad calls from the ref, who turned out to be also from the Stoneybrook area. Ah well, there's another tournament in two weeks, so it hosuld be kosher.
We first played NYU (Adri's school), and just whooped them from the start. Score was i think 48-22, and i actually scored in that game 8 points. But that was it.
Next team was Stoneybrook, lost that one 43-52.
So now we had to win every game to see the finals, so we then played UConn, which was a real close game, 62-60.
Then we played Fordham University, defending champs. They were intimidating cuase two of their guys were definitly larger than me, and the one guy played on that show, Nike Battlefield or whatever. But i managed to shut him down big time defensively, so we won that won 48-39, and finally played stoneybrook again, and lost to them with a heartbreaking 48-46. Ah well, now i must sleep.
