The most satisfying feeling for me, is to accomplish a goal, no matter how large. For those of you who knew me, my ambition was to get out of springfield, hell, even the state, and to just pave my road to either med or law school. I told people numerous times that I would become an EMT, and I did. Just finalized all the paperwork and it breaks down like this, $18 an hour for the first 3 months, then $22 an hour after that. I choose my shifts, and this is all at one of the top EMS companies in New York State, Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn. I told people that I will move off campus, find a place to live and maintain it. Well, I'm right now in a two bedroom apartment, the first floor of a house, a block away from the subway, and a 20  min. bus ride away from campus. My roommate and best buddy dominic and i both furnished teh place nicely, cleaned it up, and right now are completely at home here. it's $1300 a month, which may seem steep to a lot of people, but this is including all utilities, electric, gas, water, etc. We're getting the internet (DSL) and satelite tv for 30 bucks combined, and food is cheaply bought at a chinese supermarket in Queen's chinatown. I have a loving g/f, a kickass class schedule for this semester, a job, shelter, and i'm still alive. I'm deeply deeply satisfied....

Oh yeah, to those who want to keep in touch, my cell number is the same, i don't have a land phone, see no point in buying a plan. My new address is:

Khalid Islam
9123 181st Street
Hollis, New York 11423

Also, hey, this ain't St. John's dorms anymore. so anyone can come over and crash, already have a sleeping bag and spare everything here. Originally was going to get a sofabed, but we dropped it down the stairs at Dominic's co-op (he lived on the 23rd floor) and ther was nothing left but pieces. So, i have a sleeping bag, we have space, just give me a day or two warning so i can figure out if I have work or not.
Life is good, s'good s'good
