First it is what? I can only assume this lead is "it," but it doesn't tell me anything. Who is Evan? What was this "fight?" Who is "us?"

I'm searching for my brother, Evan. We are shapeshifters. What I found was a shapeshifter, but it wasn't my brother. I really don't know what he wants from me. And I don't know his name.

I'm heading back to Beijing for the new year celebration thats coming up. It's still over a week away, but I need to find a place to stay while I'm there.

I can't go back yet because I still haven't found my brother.

I guess that is a natural assumption, but it's an assumption nonetheless. I've not been on for a very long time, so I'm out of the loop. It's best to state specifically what the antecedents are before using pronouns, which are vague. It helps those who are familiar with the material reaffirm associations, and those who are not psychic and have no familiarity with the context learn.

I do remember you know telling me about your brother, Evan. I'm sorry; it's been so long I had forgotten. I didn't know you were a shapeshifter, though. This is the first time you've stated flat out that you have extraordinary abilities. I know a few shapeshifters myself...
